Ever since the Sim has been updated, Overlaps no longer swing until entire overlap TC is clear.

It might be realistic but it's no in others. I've noticed it in Carlisle, Bham and Victoria Central.

Some overlaps are retricted but not all.

Is this a fault??

A system update would not affect overlaps, only individual sim updates of which Carlisle and possibly Vic C havn't had one recently so the overlaps are working exactly as the dev intended according to the info he holds at the time

It is possible that a core code update "could" effect how overlaps work.

However as Guts has referred to Carlisle I'm doubtful of it as loader updates don't effect .exe sims.

I made a recent change to the core code that dealt with a particularly complicated situation. This does alter the way in which overlaps swing in some circumstances. I couldn't say whether this applies here without a detailed example I can play with.

Look at 2W12 which has just left Streatham Common. It's two TC's clear but the route won't straighten up

You've made my day, I've spent ages trying to sort overlaps on an in dev sim thinking I'd coded them all wrong :doh

I've opened that save on an old loader and the overlap will swing. Latest loader and it won't

Mantis 14161 opened for you to look at Clive.

It looks like the train has to be clear of track circuit SMT (the last one in the overlap of VC662) before you can move the points. I suspect that this is the correct behaviour given the proximity of the TC to the junction.

It appears that trains now have to be clear of the points *and* the overlap of the previous signal before points can be moved.

On LTS, the set of points from the Tilbury across to the Goods near Barking will try to self-normalise before the train is clear of the overlap (train is clear of the points but still one TC to go before clear of overlap). The points are trying to right themselves automatically 2 or 3 times to no avail, depending on the speed of the train which has just traversed them.

edit: to clarify, I know they are trying to self-normalise because after the train is clear of them, both ends of the points flash once and then return to reverse detection.

As soon as the overlap is fully unoccupied, everything works fine.

That's not what supposed to be happening. For those with access, Mantis 13850 is the change I was thinking of. That shouldn't have affected the case you're describing and I thought I'd tested for it.

Nope! Not restricted like that in the box.
