Since the above update, all overlaps appear not to time out but just to cancel immediately the route in rear is cancelled. An overlap should time out (normally 2 mins.) from occupation of the berth TC to prove the train at a stand. This seems to apply to all loader sims (although haven't tried all of them), hence i suspect it's the core code where the error lies. I have to admit, though - this omission makes Vic. SE much easier, hehe. Has this been mentioned as a fault? I am sorry if this has already been flagged up. Last edited: 20/09/2015 at 12:53 by Izzy Reason: typo Log in to reply |

This is not the same symptom (although it may be the same problem at heart). The post you mention is swinging overlaps not swinging. The situation i am describing is when a train approaches a red signal with overlap set - the overlap should time out after a period of time - but what is happening is that as soon as the route in rear is cancelled it releases the overlap of the signal in advance.

This is the time it would take a train with medium braking rate from entering the track circuit to stop at the signal. The entry speed used for this purpose is the maximum that allows the train to stop, ignoring gradients and speed limits. The overlap release time can be set specifically for any overlap. In addition, it's possible to control the release in any way the sim developer desires (e.g. it would be possible to have a "fast release" and "slow release" switch that altered the release times when pressed). I've experimented and been unable to reproduce the behaviour you describe. Log in to reply |

Hmm. This only seems to have happened since i updated the loader - do you think it is worth re-trying that?

Update - loader 4.5.3 fixes the issue. Thanks for the replies.

I've noticed the same issue - the overlap dropping as soon as the berth track is occupied and the route has released. And, yes, it was a 4.5.2-specific issue that's not present in 4.5.3.
