Hello while playing NE Wales, I encountered two minor inconveniences which could be bugs: 1) I was sending a train from the Penyffordd Cement GF to the Cement Siding, while a call from Hope Exchange UWC came. Thinking that was OK, I allowed the person to cross, but when the train moved over to the Cement siding, I got a message "Oi, I thought you said it was safe." However, judging from the maps and the mileage of the crossing, I think it really was safe and not a sheep could have been hurt. There weren't any other trains around. 2) Everywhere I looked, including the sectional appendix, I saw the place spelled as Penyffordd, not Penyfford. Note there is a difference in pronunciation of the two. Log in to reply |

The second is down to Welsh versus English spelling. (Though I do need to change it at some point) the issue with the crossing isn't a bug. The track circuit that the crossing sits on had become occupied whilst someone is crossing and the sim thinks they could have been hit. Yes, but couldn't the crossing problem be solved by splitting the track circuit or something like that? IMHO if the sim penalizes me for causing an accident that didn't happen, I think it is a bug.

I take your point on whether or not it's a bug. Simsig doesn't handle combining track circuits that involve points. So either I split the track circuits which isn't accurate to real life. Or I leave it so that the user gets penalised in the rare event the ground frame is used at the same time as the crossing phone call.

IIRC isn't it possible to split the track circuits in code but have them combine to form one track circuit visually (so it looks realistic)? I think there are a couple of sims that do this based on behaviour I've seen in the past.
