I have just routed a train out of Paisley DGL from signal GP6038 to GP6034 as shown in the screenshot and the aspect displays green despite the next signal being red. Is this a bug or something that happens on the real panel?

This could be because you have "Panel Signals" enabled in the F3>Display menu.

It's something that I've looked into before without a definitive answer. As GP6038 only has R/G aspects it's possible that it requires the subsequent signal off before it can clear - but that's currently speculation.
