I have been running this simulation (its my home town) finding very enjoyable, reminding me of the day I spent in W'pton PSB, however I was wondering if its possible to introduce some sounds into all simulations: 1. a bleep for train coming on to the panel 2. a different bleep for TRTS and a ring for the telephone, it would make the simulations even more authentic. Would be interested in any comments on this. Finally a Happy Christmas and best wishes for the New Year to all. Regards, Arthur. F Arthur Coldrick Log in to reply |

There are sounds available to download in the user-contributed download section. Then going into options (F3) in a sim and then messages is where you can apply the sounds to the sim.

It's already possible- see this recent thread for discussion and links to sound effects to download, and this Wiki page. Sounds and message options are 'remembered' across all simulations, so you only have to set your preferences up once and they will apply to any simulation you run. I use normal Windows sounds for the various noises. For example there's one called ringin that is a telephone (with a bell) rnging, a "Ta dah" for trains entering and so on. They can all be found in Windows/Media. Kev Log in to reply |

Regards, ArthurIn the event settings box have you selected 'general telephone message' in the dropdown box and then presses the '...' to select the sound from your directory? Train entering the area is under the 'train entering system' option and TRTS is under the 'train ready to start' option. Make sure the play sound tickbox is also checked. You need to place the file somewhere (anywhere) then point at the file you want in the box to the right of the "Play sound" tick, which must be ticked. Post a screen shot of the option if it still does not work. Peter I identify as half man half biscuit - crumbs! Log in to reply |

Regards, ArthurAs per the wiki page previously given as a link, the sound plays when the relevant event in the Event drop down list in the event settings box takes place. For example if you want the phone bell to ring when there is a phone message you need to answer, you need to scroll down the drop down list until you find "General Telephone Message" then check the "Play sound" box and link to the correct sound through the box next to the "Play Sound" check box. If you've already done that and the phone is not sounding, apologies for misunderstanding the problem (and I don't know what the answer would be).
