I'll leave Noel to comment on the rest, except I know there was discussion about the Edge Hill -> Lime St slots and other devs were 50:50 on whether they should be included or not as both boxes are in the same sim.

Your final point is an interesting one as the majority of the community are unaware of what simulations are in development until they are released. So it is therefore difficult for anybody with additional source material or detailed knowledge of an installation to come forward at an earlier stage.
What I mean is we usually have a person or two already and despite their best efforts, sometimes the information they give is incomplete or inaccurate - and it's hard to know it's wrong if there is nothing to contradict it. And when something does contradict what somebody has said, you then need some sort of other evidence to try to work out who or what was right in the first place. Even when I worked at TRE and obtained official copies of plans/data from NRG, they would often disagree with each other, or NRG (and eB) would have incomplete or outdated copies - or simply contain errors.

Indeed we could ask in public but then that starts the "when will it be ready" questions, and we all know how those go down.

In case I haven't already said it, yes I fully agree this release was substandard in a number of ways for a few different causes. We're trying to address it and think of ways to prevent it happening again. Apologies again.

If you compare Dan's photo to the simulation, it isn't a case of missing signals or missing auto buttons. The layout of the signals is actually different. Looking at what is probably the same scheme plan as what Noel used to produce the layout, he has it per plan, which in my case is dated early 2008. It would appear that signals and overlaps were moved between the scheme plan and the commissioning.

Sometimes it's not until after a sim is released that such information becomes apparent when people start coming forward who were previously unknown to have knowledge on the subject.

And that panel fascia is completely different to the one that was there when I visited in the summer of 1978. (I know, that's what you expect if you're a dinosaur ) In those days it still had the original train descrbers in the panel, with edge-lit perspex displays, a real pain to read. I think that may have been the first NX panel I got my paws on...

Just in case it wasn't picked up earlier- the slot release for AN33- SE21 is in a pretty random place, and could really do with some descriptive text next to it.

Also, the 'AC Limit' markings for the entrance to Tuebrook Sidings at Edge Hill are missing.

I'm not sure if this is just the one train or not but timetables at Olive Mount Junction don't appear to be stepping when the previous TT location is Edge Lane Junction.

EDIT - Same has happened with 6F15 not stepping up. Also had two 4S14s on the sim which I presume should be ruled so only one runs?

Spotted a minor display bug- the labels corresponding to crossings #4, #5 and #6 (between Monks Sidings and Fiddlers Ferry) are missing.

Further to that, I received a call from Penketh Hall (Quail shows this as being crossing #4), and told the user to call back after the next train had passed. An Up train duly passed, but they didn't call back. They eventually called back 10 minutes after the initial call- I'm not sure if this was due to the Up train falling off the simulation at Arpley, or if something else is going on.

Spotted another- LS84C (Platform 2 starter) should be a 3-aspect signal, not 4 aspect. The rest were corrected on the last update, it looks like LS84C was missed.

There's an interesting set of faults in the interlocking at Bootle Branch Jn.

With a route set from LE41 into Tuebrook sidings, it's impossible to set a route from LE39 to LE45, or from LE36 to LE300. The message 'Point(s) locked reverse by another route' is returned, even though this should be a valid move. The points in question appear to be the trap points ahead of LE41.

However, if you try this the other way round, i.e. set the route from LE39 and LE36 first, then set the route from LE41, the route from LE41 will set, however LE39 and LE36 will return to danger- they'll clear again when the trap points go back normal. Furthermore, with routes set from 39 and 36, the trap points aren't locked- setting them reverse will replace the signals to danger.

Finally, setting the route from LE41 into Tuebrook, with points 233 (points ahead of LE36) reverse (i.e. set towards Wavertree) has no effect. However, if you then swing points 233 normal (i.e. towards Edge Lane), they become locked in that state. Is suspect 233 points should be locked reverse, to provide flank protection.

Following the update, the slot release for the UF from Allerton to Speke appears to have disappeared altogether. There is definitely a slot on AN33 operated by lever 20 at Speke Junction in reality.

I think a debate was had over whether or not the slots should be included, and it was decided not to include them.
