Good morning! I bought Salisbury yesterday, and I have been playing on it for an hour now. Train 1L03 is supposed to stop at the Tisbury loop, waiting for 1L18. I managed to do something wrong while setting the routes (or sending trains) I first moved the arrow from "NORM" to "ACCT" on the "TO TISBURY" box. I know it's not called a "box", or an "arrow". But what it's called, I don't know. I then pressed the "OFFER" button on the "TO WILTON" box. "NOR" changed to a green "ACC". I set the route from signal 57 to signal 83, for train 1L03. This is where I messed up. I don't remember exactly what I did, but I set the arrow on the "TO GILLINGHAM" box to "ACCT". What I think I did, was that I gave permission to send a train over to Gillingham from Tisbury Loop. I did try to set a route from signal 83 over to Gillingham, but it says that a slot is required for this route. I did manage to set the route from signal 82 over to Wilton, for train 1L18, but it says that the train is stopped at signal GM28. Here is a picture: I have tried to press every button on the "TO GILLINGHAM" box, without any luck. So, what's wrong, and how do I fix it? Thank you very much! - Stig Last edited: 15/03/2016 at 11:17 by stighetl Log in to reply |

Try authorising 1L03 past at danger and see if it clears the block.

it looks very much like the Tokenless Block has got confused. I would cancel the signals and place the acceptance switch on the Tisbury-Gillingham instrument to "Accept" and see if that releases the train at Gillingham. If that train calls in instruct it to pass the signal at Danger - that should sort the block instrument out. Kev Log in to reply The following user said thank you: stighetl |

I'm sorry. That was just a typo in my previously comment. I ment to write that I gave permission to 1L18 to pass signal GM28 at danger. - Stig Last edited: 15/03/2016 at 12:10 by stighetl Log in to reply |

Try abandoning the timetable if 1L18 and see if that makes it move. Plan B is to set the road for 1L03 to come out of the loop and talk him past the signal. Kev Log in to reply |

I have a feeling it might be a bug. I gave permission for 1L03 to pass at danger. Nothing happened until I manually switched the track (Or how you will describe it). The green "ACC" changed to red "TIS" on the "TO GILLINGHAM" box. When 1L03 reached Gillingham, it went back to the green "ACC". I still don't have the possibility to move the switch over to "ACCT".

I don't think it's a bug. If you operate the block in the wrong way it will get locked up, as it does in real life. Is 1L18 still reporting that it's stopped at GM28? Kev Last edited: 15/03/2016 at 13:22 by KymriskaDraken Log in to reply |

I'm not used to this type of system, so I'm not sure how it's supposed to work. But I thought it would change from "TIS" to "NOR" after 1L03 had exited the single track at Gillingham, not change to "ACC". 1L18 is still stopped at GM28.

I think that as you originally set the switch to Accept it thinks that a train is coming from Gillingham, and it won't reset until one does. The only other thing I can think of is to get 1L18 to "Shunt Forward" to see if it will move past the signal. Kev Log in to reply |

Thanks for the tips! I tried it, and it actually started moving, but only for a really short period. It's still stopped at signal GM28 I'm afraid. - Stig Log in to reply |

I can't think of anything else to try. Maybe removing that train might help. Perhaps the developer, AndyG, will see this thread and be able to suggest something. Kev Log in to reply |

Thank you very much for taking your time to help me! In that case I think I will start a new game. I removed 1L18, but the same thing happened with train 1L20. It's stopped at signal GM28. However, I don't really like to give up, so it would be nice to hear from AndyG. In the meantime I think I will start a new game. Thank you! - Stig Log in to reply |

The problem being with an offer having been made from Tisbury to Gilly is it needs to be cancelled, I think this could be done by cancelling the route set from SY82-SY58, set the route from S83 to Gilly for 1L03 and either let it run, or cancel that route (with an ACoA) to clear the Accepted indicator, which should then allow you to turn the knob to ACC to accept the train from Gillingham - I think. If you can up[load here a save from that time, I might to able to clear the block out by fiddling with the TC occupancy (in F11 or testers mode). Hope thatmight help, AndyG I can only help one person a day. Today's not your day. Tomorrow doesn't look too good either. Log in to reply |

I am having the same problem but with 1L88 from Gilly. As far as I can see I have got the blocking right and the route is set but the train keeps stopping at GM28 and as it is a grey signal I cannot see how to resolve it. Can anybody help?

See below. It doesn’t move from the orange block number 1. I am sure I have got the route right but obviously I have done something wrong? Thank you Post has attachments. Log in to view them. Log in to reply |

JamesN specifically asked for a "save" not a picture as it is much easier to diagnose what is happening from actual SimSig data rather than just a snapshot from the screen. It's like sending your doctor a picture of your face and asking her/him if you have COVID-19. To create a save go to the main SimSig control box, click on File then click on Save As. When that is done, create a new Forum posting, click on one of the "Browse" buttons below the text box and select the .ssg file that you have just saved then "Submit Post". “In life, there is always someone out there, who won’t like you, for whatever reason, don’t let the insecurities in their lives affect yours.” – Rashida Rowe Last edited: 28/03/2020 at 09:13 by postal Reason: None given Log in to reply |

Stighetl, you have my sympathy. I remember some very frustrating times when I first started using the Salisbury sim - but it is worth persevering. Not only does the Tisbury loop block take some working out, but the Dinton ground frames can be a challenge too! If you haven't already done so, I'd recommend setting the sim to take a snapshot save every 5 or 10 minutes so that, if you do get yourself into a tangle, you can go back a little way in time and try a different approach. You'll soon get the hang of things. You can set the snapshot interval under Show > Options > Control.

Has anyone got any news on this issue? I think this is definitely a bugged box as it becomes unmovable once the ARR box is pressed, when it should allow the indicator to be moved back.
