Hello, When a train is delayed on the Down Moorgate and trains begin to bank up behind, I have noticed that a train out of Blackfriars always seems to lose its headcode at City Thameslink. I thought it might just be a bug with trains entering too close together, however that is not the case. When the platform is occupied at City Thameslink, a following train is entering from Blackfriars and coming right up into the occupied platform at City Thameslink without authorisation. Running the 1991 timetable (1990 era), sim 1.11, loader 4.5.11. This has been happening in previous versions of the loader and I do not believe the latest update has affected it either way. Screenshot and savegame attached - on loading the savegame both trains should be on the same platform. I observed 2T16 moving right up and stopping behind 2B71 in the train list, including momentarily displaying the message 'Train 2B71 in front' before reporting 'Stopped at City Thameslink' Thanks! Interesting as no one has spotted this before. That said are you running the timetable with delays & failures on? I'll check the timetable data regarding the trains you've mentioned. I know during the testing we ran the timetable without any failures or delays on.

The Victoria SE sim has two signals on the Farringdon-bound platform at City Thameslink. Perhaps one train is at each signal, but both still in the platform? Kev Log in to reply |

It doesn't matter which trains they are, I've observed it even when trains are still moving but are entering late - if two trains enter within a short timeframe you get the same situation, noted by a lost headcode. In Victoria SE, I seem to remember the signalling being too restrictive to ever allow trains to get that close together. Without checking, doesn't it hold the following train at Blackfriars until the City Thameslink platform is clear? (Might be wrong about this) Log in to reply |

It's already been reported twice on the issue tracker (#14822 and #15151) - it seems that VS354 is missing or otherwise non-operational in 1990s mode, which means that a following train can enter City Thameslink station before the first train has left. It also means that the TD won't step from the approach berth into the platform because that is only triggered when the platform TC becomes occupied, which naturally doesn't work if the second train is already in the station before the first train has left.
Two million people attempt to use Birmingham's magnificent rail network every year, with just over a million of them managing to get further than Smethwick. Log in to reply The following user said thank you: flabberdacks |
