I think a handy optional feature might be a train approaching X level crossing message. Its easy to get distracted on the other side of the panel and bring a class one to a halt.
If the tales are to be believed, the lack of warning is just as problematic in the real box (my post above of 27/08/16 09:39).

Are the west end bays at Newcastle permissive? Sectional Appendix says yes, but I've got a train at 483 with a route set into (occupied) P12 and the subsidiary won't clear?
Certainly are, have you checked lengths? Not sure if it would detect that but you wont get anything more than 1x 185 1x 4 car 220 in there. You will get a few northern units in there 3 max im guessing.

On a general note this is 'my patch!' Currently driving trains all over this sim so very pleased to see this released :silly:

Geographical map of the Tyneside IECC area, which I've added to the manual reference section.

Shouldn't ARS lower the barriers? 27/07/2018 at 13:07 #110420

I've noticed that Hett Mill, Killingworth and Dam Dykes level crossings need to be lowered manually while East Boldon is lowered by the ARS. Is this normal?
Actually just crossing logic rather than ARS but yes, East Boldon has auto lower while the others don't.

East Bolden Crossing.

I’m currently playing the Tyneside IECC sim 15-10-09 (0000 start), Loader 4.7 and thought that I would give my brain a rest and read through some of the Forum posts to see what others were reporting.

I came across this post (above) which is from August 2016, so something might have changed since then, but I have found that on some occasions, quite a few actually, ARS isn’t lowering the barriers and if my attention is elsewhere trying to sort out problems caused by delayed trains, I get phone calls about trains waiting at the approach signals.

Is anyone else experiencing this?

Can anyone see anything odd here?

Or have I gone completely mad (again)

Did you click on the headcode before the train actually entered the simulation? If so, the simulation won't necessarily show you the correct timetable. If you click on it now (as the train has entered the simulation) it should show the correct TT.

You are right, I did click on it.
I have just clicked on it again and the correct timetable has opened as you explained. I'm not going mad after all.

Thanks.

In the end I instructed the train at the rear to shunt forward. Problem solved.

That doesn’t help us diagnose what went wrong in the first place though.

It is 5A60 AND 2W56 JOIN 20:50. I did move 5A60 forward and they did join, but I subsequently found out I locked the subroute. I happened earlier in the service as well.

I love this sim, one of my favs. I play with a fairly high chance of delays . But they seem to me disproportionally high on the Metro. Fitters required etc, compared to the ECML. Is this something that is coded or just my bad luck. Still one of the best.

Probably because in-sim train delays can only happen at timetabled stops at the moment, so stopping trains will be disproportionally affected.
Two million people attempt to use Birmingham's magnificent rail network every year, with just over a million of them managing to get further than Smethwick.
