Hi guys.
Yet another little problem with my train control I'm afraid.
I'm playing the Gloucester 1985 TT v1.112 in beginners scenario which starts at midnight. I've got to about 2am and have train 5E16 sitting in Gloucester Platform 1 and 1E161 in Platform 2. 5E16 is scheduled to shunt from P1 to P2. and join 1E161. I've tried all sorts of manoeuvers to get 5E16 into P2, but to no avail. There's obviously something that I haven't done correctly.
Would somebody like to tell me what it is that I have to do please?

I have attached a saved game if it helps.

Many Thanks

You have done every thing correctly. The sim does not recognise that 5E16 has stopped. To fix it, In F2, Abandon 5E16's timetable. Then authorise 5E16 to pass the signal at stop. Once 5E16 has passed signal, in F2 reinstate 5E16's timetable, making sure that you select the right location. (the second Gloucester in the drop down box). 5E16 will move and join with 1E16.

Any problems, let us know.

HI Barry.

I've just tried your suggestion. Abandoned 5E16 timetable, but after a couple of attempts the train refuses to pass signal 54 at Danger.
I saved a game at this point and have attached it for you to see if you have any more luck than I did.

I've taken your save and set up 5E16 to move and join OK (attached).

The problem is 5E16 needs a little nudge to move from Gloucester to Gloucester, shunt forward should have done the trick, but because it doesn't quite fit into P2 the front of the train has reached P2 but the whole train hasn't arrived at the join location.

From your save I did the following:-
a) Reinstated 5E16 TT, with the next location as the second Gloucester location ie the joining one;
b) set the route S54 to S58 (sub-aspect will clear for call-on);
c) instructed 5E16 to shunt forward.

Edit:- I just tried running your 0200 save, all you need to do is edit 5E16 TT and set its current location to the second/join Gloucester location and the join will work.

I can only help one person a day. Today's not your day. Tomorrow doesn't look too good either.

Hi Barry.
Followed your a), b) and c) instructions and all is now well.
Thanks a bundle. Will have to remember this method as it may well come in handy.
