It'll chain to Cardiff PSB, and assuming it's simulated fully, will reach the correct place to chain with Bristol and Gloucester. I doubt chaining will be possible at the moment due to the age of the latter two simulations. You're a tad confused about the Heart of Wales. The route north from Newport is known as the Marches line, and runs north through Abergavenny, Hereford and Craven Arms to Shrewsbury (it's the line that enters the Shrewsbury simulation at Dorrington).

The Heart of Wales line runs from Llanelli (west of Swansea) to Craven Arms, which is 20 miles or so south of Shrewsbury.

Newport will show case tomorrow along side Cardiff, Cardiff Valleys and Cardiff Vale of Glamorgan. I hasten to add it's a little rough and ready but I hope everyone will enjoy a go.
Any chance of a screen shot for those of us who can't come?

You're quite right. I switched the lines in my head (I actually travelled Newport to Ludlow and then Ludlow on towards ManPicc and then Scarborough on my visit there. I actually stayed at my cousins not far off Broome (which IS on the HOW).
