The Birmingham New Street 20091015 (0445 Start) WTT, which is now downloaded by the Updater, actually has a starting time of 00.00 hrs although the seeded trains are correct for the intended 0445 Start. It would appear that this was also the case in the original 0445 WTT released early in 2015, so it looks as though another WTT has slipped through the 'Quality Control' net!

Not a bug, but should be corrected as New Street is a PayWare sim.

My personal view is you should delete all your SimSig files, and install them in the recommended default location.
Talking of which, what is the default location?

I have all my files in Local Disk (C) users\Public\Public Documents\Sim Sig\Simulations\Simulations
or users\Public\Public Documents\Sim Sig\Simulations\Timetables

The loader appears happy with this arrangement and I have had none of the problems that are mentioned in this thread.

If using the default locations primary folder is C:\Users\Public\Documents\SimSig
Then you should have 2 folders created in that as follows
C:\Users\Public\Documents\SimSig\Simulations
C:\Users\Public\Documents\SimSig\Timetables

*.sim files would go into C:\Users\Public\Documents\SimSig\Simulations\%simname%.sim
and any picture files would go in to C:\Users\Public\Documents\SimSig\Simulations\%simname%\*.jpg or other picture files

All timetables go in to C:\Users\Public\Documents\SimSig\Timetables\%simname%\.*.wtt

This applies to loader sims only

Lyn, thank you for bringing this to our attention.

I've amended the start time of the 04:45 timetable, and I've also removed the old version numbering from the timetable name on both the 04:45 and 00:00 timetable.

These are now available through check for updates.

Also, generally speaking, there are a few sims where updates to the default timetable have been published at some point or other in the download section, but not through the updater yet.

Two million people attempt to use Birmingham's magnificent rail network every year, with just over a million of them managing to get further than Smethwick.

Right, an update.... I seem to have resolved the issue.

The 'folder options' box had 4no locations listed, all of which were ticked originally...

c\program files (x86)\SimSig
c\program files (x86)\SimSig\ SimSig
c\program files (x86)\SimSig\ SimSig\ simulations
c\program files (x86)\SimSig\ SimSig\ timetables

I've now unticked 2 items, leaving only \SimSig and \SimSig\SimSig\timetables ticked. This has removed the duplicate listing. It still doesn't explain how the sim was seeing and running a sim from a location which doesn't exist though!

That location does exist, albeit not where you think it is. You haven't got permissions to write to those folders so they get redirected to "%localappdata%\VirtualStore\Program Files (x86)" - check there instead.

Cheers for that. There are indeed folder discrepencies here. But not straight forwards.... There is an additional location now which doesnt match the original list (see below)
\SimSig
\SimSig\ SimSig\ simulations
\SimSig\ SimSig\ simulations\ simulations
\SimSig\simulations <- this one is a new one!

Everything is now in \SimSig\SimSig\simulations, and this seems to have solved the issue. I guess the problem has come from the loader installing items into a different directory to everything else.

Coventry updated; Leeds Ardsley, Leeds Northwest, Swindon/Didcot, and Westbury added. Some timetables added to King's Cross.

Many thanks to Mark265 and Steamer for their help.
The KX 1985 WTT that now gets downloaded by the SimSig Updater is an old 'non-XML' version and the associated Rules file (.WTR) is missing. It is v5.33 of the WTT but I have v7.21 (old format) which I believe to be the latest version.

How on earth did this out-of-date non-XML version of the WTT find its way into the Updater system?

Someone manually moved it there?

There's already an issue for that (#16494).

Because it's the latest official version of the timetable. The same version you get if you install Kings Cross via the latest installer. I'll work on sorting out a later version to push out via the refresher.

I've converted the latest version of the timetable to pure WTT and uploaded it to the refresher as "Kings Cross 1985 0000 Start.WTT"

The point I was trying to make wasn't that the version no. was older than the version I have, but that a non-XML version was added to the Refresher without the associated Rules file also being added.

Thank you for converting it to XML format, but why wasn't this done prior to it being added to the Refresher for distribution to the Simsig users as it's a fairly simple task?

Probably because as the opening post says...

4. Much as I'd like to get 732 uploads right first time, chances are a few will need correcting.
As much as we strive for perfection, it can sometimes be difficult to achieve. Though I can't speak for Geoff, it's been a long time since I've dealt with timetables in the old WTT/WTR format, if I had been doing the original uploading I've no doubt I'd have missed it as well even on a double check.

We can't do much more than fix things as quickly as possible once reported.

I forget the total now but something like nearly 800 files were uploaded recently. Much as we strive for perfection, we're only human, but we are fixing things as we go.
