Hi, I have had Simsig for quite a while now, but have just completely forgotten to introduce myself, I have spent so many hours playing this game so far and would really like to start to get more out of it with even more simulations and possibly some multi-players.

Hi, I'm a volunteer demonstrator with the Swindon Panel Society at Didcot Railway Centre. With SwinDid 2005 I can now see what happens to all those Didcot Power Station coal trains which clog up my main lines at 60mph because I've been chatting to the visiting public instead of looping them.

Welcome. There are some simulations that are no cost (donation suggested) and there are some that are paid.

Hi guys

I'm new to this type of simulation and enjoy playing multiplayer simulations too which I hope to be able to do soon once I've worked out how to use multiplayer.
I'm currently playing the Llangollen Railway sim which I'm enjoying as its a nice easy line for beginners if you are not used to how SimSig works like I was early on when I installed it.

You need to download the system files, then open the loader and run the check for updates.

thanks for the help... or not I have looked for the "free" games --as advertised, without success. There is reference to a newuser in a few sims when you get to the order section ie
"Final total including coupon codes and any tax or shipping costs will be calculated at the next step. Use coupon code MULTIBUY if you have more than one item, or NEWUSER if you've never bought before." but of course there is then nowhere to enter NEWUSER
and SHIPPING COSTS ?? to send on line ?
Perhaps being unfamiliar with the set up of this site is causing me difficulty.. but if this start is presenting such misinformation at this stage... what chance of a SimSig actually working?
So has my account been approved ?
I used this Introductions thread... but lots dont seem to and post individual HI's.. who knows what happens to them !
Of course I dont expect this to post to be approved.

If you want to pick a fight there are quite a few frequent visitors to the Forum who enjoy a good dust-up and will be happy to oblige you.

On the other hand, if you want to try and run one of the simulations, you could always follow the advice in the post before yours about installing the system files then clicking the check for updates button. This will download all of the available simulations to your machine. Some are freeware, others require a licence which you need to purchase through the shop. There is a listing of the free and payware sims on the Wiki at https://www.SimSig.co.uk/Wiki/Show?page=usertrack:areainfo:table. There is an explanation about the Shop at https://www.SimSig.co.uk/Wiki/Show?page=usertrack:shop.

Have you taken a look at the installation guide? https://www.SimSig.co.uk/Wiki/Show?page=usertrack:install

The SimSig Loader, and all simulations, can be downloaded for free. Some simulations, like Liverpool Street, can be played without restriction. Others will only allow a demo period- playing beyond the demo requires a license purchase. All free simulations and demos of paid simulations can be played without making any purchase.

When purchasing, the box to enter coupon codes is at the bottom of the list of items in the shopping cart.

The coupon code goes in the box labelled as "Coupon code".

Like many online shops, we sell both physical items (though none currently) that need shipping, and digital items that have no shipping costs (which is why it says 0.00). Same for taxes.

Hi alanmiller80. Welcome to Simsig.

https://www.SimSig.co.uk/Wiki/Show?page=usertrack using this link will take you to the wiki where it will detail how to get started. There are a range of payware and donation-ware sims to chose from.

Any questions, then you can add to the forum in the relevant areas and you'll find the community quite helpful.

Enjoy.
Craig

Welcome to SimSig! Please feel free to introduce yourself/prove you're not a robot by replying below.

Get started by downloading the System Files here, and take a look at the Wiki, in particular the installation guide. You can find a list of simulations here- we recommend Royston to start with, but it's entirely up to you.

Feel free to ask questions/make comments by starting a thread in the appropriate section of the Forum (please keep this thread for introductions only).

Please be aware that your first post will be approved by a moderator, so won't appear immediately.

Enjoy!
I couldn't work out how to post something in the induction thread because I couldn't find the box where you are supposed to type it in, so I just quoted one of the other posts.

All I want to do is Signal on the Strathfield map thing, but this is an awful lot of work to go through to do it.

I am playing this on a Mac as well.

I live in Australia, and I don't know how to add a map so I can signal on it.

It's a "feature" of this forum software that to create a new post on a thread you have to hit "Reply" against any post. It doesn't reply to THAT post, just adds your contribution at the end. You get used to it
