Hi there,

After recently starting with SimSig, how would I go about starting a multiplayer game?

Any help will be appreciated.

Thank you.

Have a read of the Multiplayer section of the Wiki, which explains how to set the simulation up and Port Forwarding, which is required if you're connected to the internet via a router.

If you've never played Multiplayer before, I'd recommend joining a few sessions first, so you're aware of how they're run and what the host's duties are.

Couple of Questions
If I were to decide I wanted to host a simulation, would I need to enable the Run a SimSig Server? If so, where would I find the port number?

And, would this be the same for the Interface Gateway?

Thank you in advance.

1) Yes you would, the port number you pick is up to you, but you need to have set your router up to forward that port.

2) You don't need to run an interface gateway.

See also your router's user manual- you can usually find them on Google if you don't have a copy yourself.

Port 50505 is the 'standard' port used for SimSig games.
