Sometimes when a train terminates it also divides. But when this happens the ACI only inserts the rear-most code (see image) 1A01 arrives in PL15 at Waterloo 1A01 divides rear (becoming 1A02) 1A01 becomes 1A03 The trouble is the old front of the arriving train (1A01 N:1A03) is not automatically re-described, thus the ARS doesn't recognise it as a train waiting to depart (even if TRTS is active) If ACI could (where possible) insert /update a code already in a berth to the new train, to allow for trains splitting when they terminate The train now standing on platform 2, should be on the rails Log in to reply |

How the ACI is programmed in SimSig depends on how it works in reality. |Waterloo aka Wimbledon iirc does not have ACI in reality so the signaller would have to input the TD's manually, whereas newer IECC'S tec, like York will insert the TD of the rear portion after the front has departed which is replicated on York Sim

Fair enough. learn something new everyday, I guess I've just been 'cheating' on Waterloo thus far! Thanks for the explanation. But as ACI is included in the Waterloo sim (IDK about others) when ARS is enabled, this could still be a valid suggestion. but more of a luxury. ACI is a function of ARS which is a replication of the IECC. Non-ARS ACI is just an aid to use. Peter I identify as half man half biscuit - crumbs! Log in to reply |
