Hi, I've started playing with the Swindon/Didcot simulation and so far I like it a lot. This simulation features some lines with bidirectional signalling and I'm a bit curious how much I'm allowed to use it. Here in Sweden where all track is set up for running in either direction we often use double track sections for "flying" overtakes. Could I legally do the same here, or is it strictly for keeping things moving during disruptions? Does moves in the wrong direction incur speed restrictions? The line speed is lower in the "wrong" direction on the Reversible sections (85mph instead of 125mph), do there is that restriction. Otherwise their usage is fairly free - the only scenario that isn't permitted (although the Interlocking allows it) per the rules are 2 trains passing each other on the move; both on the wrong line. There's an article on the Swindon Panel Society website about the various sorts of BiDirectional working and the rules associated with their use: http://reference.swindonpanel.org.uk/index.php/Reversible_Signalling Log in to reply The following user said thank you: BarryM |
