Any reason why ECS from the down siding need two authorities from the signaller to proceed, a ground signal and a verbal authority from the signaller? As an ex-signaller never come across this before as the ground signal should be enough authority same as the up siding ground signal.

I've seen this occur recently as well but on Marylebone at Aylesbury Sidings. I do know that you shouldn't be getting the call from the train at Epsom Downs - I've never experienced it before so I suspect it's a bug that's recently been introduced through an update (which I suspect is the program, not the Sim.

I've logged on Mantis for investigation. # 17396

Epsom Down Siding, not Epsom Downs. Different places entirely.

Yes, well given we were talking about the Wimbledon Sim, not Victoria Central it wouldn't have been difficult to deduce that I actually was talking about Epsom Down Siding, not Epsom Downs (which I am sure you are aware has no sidings).

I apologise for not being clearer as I was about to walk out the door at the time, but at least you could acknowledge that I had logged the bug for investigation.....

Mantis ticket was marked as fixed this morning. The fix will be applied in the next version of the loader. (Core code rather than simulation issue)

"Passengers for New Lane, should be seated in the rear coach of the train " - Opinions are my own and not those of my employer

To clarify, I found an issue in another sim where a train was calling for authority even though there was a signal ahead of it with no points between. Investigating the relevant core code showed that this would happen if (a) the train was not occupying the track circuit that the signal is on and (b) the signal is a shunt signal with no main red aspect. That's what I've fixed.

I'm assuming that that's the situation with both the cases mentioned in this thread. If not, I need more details.

There was a core code change a month or two ago that did touch this code, though I'm not completely clear why it had this effect. I also found two other places in the core code that might have been affected, though I've seen no reports (one to do with defensive driving approaching a shunt signal at danger, the other to do with coming up to a shunt signal when examining the line).

I did report a while ago a situation on marylebone where this was happening, but I do not know what came of it.

Thanks Clive

Without a thorough test, I noted that both Epsom Down Sidings and Aylesbury Sidings have similar conditions (2 TC's Shunt at the end of one of them to it's quite likely. When the next Core Code update comes through, I will test both and advise through Mantis is you like.

Hi Mark

If it made it onto Mantis, I will add that as a relation to the entry I made for Epsom DS.

I had a look through Mantis and can't (through a quick look) see that it's been reported. Saying this, it appears Clive has fixed the bit of code that deals with it. When the next update comes out Mark, can you have another try and if its an issue let me/one of know and will get it logged properly.

Cheers

Andrew
