NLL V.2.102; Timetable 1985 V.4.1. In this timetable, there are two trains scheduled from Barking to Upper Holloway to return towards Barking later: 6M70 to become 7E34 and 6M00 to become 7V00. They are both booked to arrive (Upper Holloway) at 11.10 and to depart therefrom at 16.03. Obviously, this cannot be right! Furthermore, neither train will go into Upper Holloway siding fully and they end up standing foul of the main line. Both trains are shown to be only 100 metres long and should, theoretically, fit into the siding although I cannot find any reference to the siding length in the NLL manual. There is a reference to these trains in the zip file accompanying this timetable: "There is one train a day that calls at Upper Holloway, either a trip from Ripple Lane or a service ex WR (via Ripple Lane) and will therefore need to be manually set to the next service, and it will call waiting at red all day." Since the timetable allows both trains to show, one of them has to be removed but, even then, I cannot get one of these trains into Upper Holloway siding without fouling the main line. Does anyone know the answer to this problem? In the end I removed both of these trains but this shouldn't be necessary; obviously, I'm doing something wrong and I would like to know what!

I don't know the timetable but it seems as though there is a rule missing which should prevent one or the other running.

My guess the rule should be..

6M70 and 7E34 are alternatives

Terry, You are not doing anything wrong. The Loader version should not have been released, Read more at Home > Forum > Simulations > Released > North London Line > North London Line Loader version.

Further information that I overlooked is the version numbers of the sim. The Loader version is not the same as the "exe" version.

I'm slightly confused Barry. Am I to assume that the current version of the NLL sim which I downloaded (V2.102) is unworkable or shouldn't be available for download? I know that the NLL sim is in the process of revision but presumably, for the moment, the current NLL sim is not fit for purpose; is that a correct understanding?

I am having trouble thinking back to November 2009 when this version of NLL exe was released. There were a number of problems.

I have a version 2.131.0.0.

Perhaps you may have a look at the Releases files.

At the top of this thread you should see Home > Forum > Simulations > Released > North London Line > UPPER HOLLOWAY. Click on "North London Line" , go to the bottom of page 2 and read the threads upwards.

Enjoy!

Barry, I have re-run the '85' timetable and have attached 3 screenshots of what happens when 6M00 goes into Upper Holloway siding. This train automatically becomes 7V00 for the return working but as you will see, it stands foul of the main line. Together with this, a phone call from 7V00 advises that this train is waiting at signal 620 which does not seem to marry with any of the signals around 7V00. You will also note from one of the screen shots that this train should go into the siding with no problem because it is only 100 metres long. I experimented with 2 previous freight trains which were 300 metres in length and they fitted into the siding with no problem. Odd or what! Incidentally, there appears to be no run round facility at Upper Holloway so how this train can return towards Barking is a mystery to me.
