Interesting reading those comments. I personally would like the Southampton sim be updated to loader sims. Would be nice if I wish it to happen on SimSig, - a Weymouth to Winchester or all the way to Waterloo And or Basingstoke to Exeter St, Davids including the Exmouth, Barnstaple and Paignton branches Last edited: 29/12/2017 at 19:46 by axmh Reason: Corrected wordings Log in to reply |

North London Line in SimSig Loader would be nice. I like the layout from the "stand alone" North London Line but a bit difficult to keep the overview of everything. This layout as new layout for SimSig Loader would be nice! Log in to reply |

All of the South Eastern Lines in Kent would be nice. I know London Bridge ASC was in development some years ago, but since its developer has become a real Signaller, I think this has been dropped. There are times I wish I were a developer to be able to complete London Bridge ASC, especially as the real thing is sadly in decline having the majority of it migrated to TBROC. More goes in the first May Bank Holiday this year. So LBASC, Dartford PSB, Rochester SB, Gillingham SB, Rainham SB, Sittingbourne SB,Faversham SB, Margate SB, Ramsgate SB, Selling SB, Shepherd's Well SB, Dover Priory SB, Sandwich SB, Deal SB, Minster SB, Canterbury East SB, Canterbury West FB, Chislet Quarry SB, Sturry SB, Chartham SB, Ashford SB, Tonbridge SB,Chislehurst SB, Medway Valley line (8 AB Boxes) and the rest I have forgotten to add that are in Kent. Professionalism mean nothing around a bunch of Amateur wannabees! Log in to reply The following user said thank you: tjtbcork |

The screenshots posted prompted a kind-spirited member to freely part with 100s of pages of technical information far more detailed than anything I had previously. Understanding and Implementing that, and some other changes - alongside the day job of running the real-life Western Region - is taking more time than I would like. I’d like to get it finished this year; and I think that’s an achievable aim. And when it is released I hope it will be one of the most detailed and thoroughly-researched SimSig sims to date. It’s just going to take a bit more time. Slough will probably then follow Reading; and there’s another project I’d like to do - but I need to finish Reading first! I will also look forward to the sim. I would hope that there will be an option of eras (pre-TVSC and TVSC layout although I realise that the latter is unlikely as TVSC is on the COI list but, then again, a few others on that list have appeared) but I will be happy with whatever comes along. Glad that this is being reconstituted and that someone else has taken it on. I will look forward to Slough and Paddington if they appear. Dave Log in to reply |

As Tyneside has been released together with a number of other sims also on the list, could it be time to update said list? That said I appreciate the update on Reading and Slough - I can only hope that it's possible to chain Reading to Westbury, Swindon/Didcot and Feltham as we could do the FGW diversions into Waterloo. I would really like to see more Scottish simulations, particularly the rural lines in the northern and western parts of the region. For example the Highland mainline - long sections of single track to regulate and a mix of local, regional and long-distance services (not sure about freight?). Of course it wouldn't be prototypical with the Simsig CTC-style signalling, but interesting nevertheless.

uboat in post 108026 said:PeterAh, I think I understand and thank you for the implied compliment. I presume you're referring to the series of simulations I wrote for the US-based Train Dispatcher software between 10-20 years ago. A very different set of work using much cruder base software than SimSig. All would require a complete rewrite, even if base SimSig simulations were available. Of the work I produced all those years ago, the Stockport & Manchester South areas are coming in SimSig, though separately, rather than combined as I did them. Carlisle & Warrington Bank Quay PSBs are certainly needed in SimSig and I would certainly produce BR era timetables for the latter if it was made available. However, the combination of mine I'd really, really like to have is Manchester Victoria East Junction to Deal Street (inclusive) with two eras set for the 1961-1973 period and 1973-1991. The 1977 simulation for that area is one of the few Train Dispatcher sims I still play regularly. I can't honestly see it happening, but it would be as close to personal signalling nirvana as I'm likely to get. Last edited: 18/05/2018 at 20:31 by whatlep Reason: None given Log in to reply |

Some simulations were direct attempts to mimic a PSB: Carlisle 1996; Preston 1996; Warrington 1977 & 1996; Chester 2004; Leicester 1987; Manchester South 1996 Some were one or more PSB panels (and usually a bit of add-on) put together to create an area I knew and liked: Manchester north side (Bolton - Rochdale via Victoria) 1996; 2002; 2008 Most were routes which interested me, either wholly or partly reconfigured to look like NX operations: Cambrian Coast lines 1977 & 1997; Chester/Altrincham/Stockport Sale (CLC Chester route) 1977 & 1997; Cumbrian Coast line 1997; West Highland lines 1987; Manchester Victoria (Deal Street - East Junctions areas) 1977; GSW Ayrshire Coast 1983; GSW main line 1983, 1995, 2003 & 2005; Highland railway system (Perth/ Forres - Thurso/ Kyle) 2001; Oxford & Birmingham - Hereford 1993 & 2002; North Wales coast lines 1996; Stafford Area (roughly identical to SimSig's) 1997; Manchester South (Slade Lane Jn - Crewe/ Macclesfield) 2002; Northern Ireland Railways system 2004. There were a couple of French routes too, from the period we lived near Paris. Quite a few looking back and a lot of hours testing them while on Transatlantic flights! If I were to do this in full whether the Far North could/would be included is a separate question. I also have very limited information at present on any of it never mind the re-doubling work going on at the moment. But I can say that I have other McSims in the pipeline. I can also say that if anyone has any information on the operation of any of the Northumberland boxes (ECML &+ B&T) I'd be interested. I have track plans but detailed panel/box pictures have been impossible to find, for example. If anyone has any info that might be of interest can you PM me in the first instance - thanks. Doubling of track from Aberdeen to Dyce has now started and will be completed in a few months. Signalling modifications will be made at the same time. Quite a lot of lines in Scotland such as the far north line beyond Inverness use radio tokens - not sure how that would simulate in SimSig ? Log in to reply |
