I strongly suspect this comment in the introductions thread is related to me following what I personally think is a perfectly reasonable thread about Placeholder entries in Upcoming Games (see link).

*Waits for some jumped-up so-and-so to complain that I've said this...*

In order to avoid any further controversy or upset I have decided to become a read only member of the forum and withdraw from being an occasional host of public sessions.

Not sure it's you that is the jumped-up so-and-so.

Andrew - that comment was not aimed at you, or Postal, or ANY SPECIFIC person.

It was aimed at whoever would reply and moan that I pointed that out.

So you were trolling. Probably not within the code of practice for the Forum.

Not strictly trolling, more expecting somebody to complain/have a go...it's been one of those weeks for me.

Not the first time we've had that response. As you can see from this thread we've already seen one valued member of the community step back from involvement as a direct result of your actions. Maybe it would be helpful to all if you thought twice about stirring up the Forum as a way to relieve your frustrations (but I'll still buy you a pint if you get to Birmingham).

Aron - you are straight talking so I'm going to do the same in return!

I would strongly recommend taking postal's advice, your passionate about signalling/railways and I've enjoyed some cracking MP games with you, but I feel that some of your behaviour on the forum is robust and sometimes rather rude - I know it's common on other gaming communities, but the SimSig one tends to be much more reserved as really we're generally a big team working together rather than people out for some individual glory.

Please think from other people's viewpoint for a second before pressing enter, for instance 'could someone take offence at this or could it come across as rude?', if yes then you can probably change a few words and still get your point across, if you can't then don't post it!

If you need to vent then find somewhere more suitable, like a friend on Facebook (I don't mind!) - this forum or a multiplayer game are not the places for that.

Fair comments lads, can't argue those.

Maybe I'll stick to the hostilities on SB&S....there's enough wibble on there to deal with as it is!

P.S Postal - I thought I was buying you a pint? I forget which way around it is....
