2 mins delay for every train - bug or hidden setting? 26/12/2017 at 12:56 #104524 | |

Hi all, I've just this morning downloaded the Bristol sim to try out and it's good, but there's a very reliable 'feature' which is bugging me. Every train is departing its station 2 mins late - every time and at every station. Is this a bug with the sim or TT (I'm running 'Summer Monday' on 'Beginner' mode)? Or is there some odd setting somewhere that I can't find? Thanks, Alex Log in to reply |

That's odd- there's a known bug which affected some departures from Bristol Temple Meads that way, but it didn't affect the other stations.

Could it be that the train is 2 late from Temple Meads then stays 2 late?

I seem to remember this some time ago, and at the time, occurred on the EXE version of many sims. Seem to remembering it happening when ever a train reversed departing without getting a next working. Don't know about other activities. At very least I remember seeing it happen on Exeter as well. Again, this is long before loader sims I'm speaking here James Log in to reply |

In this case, could it be that the train reporting function is set to “more than 2 minutes late” - you may not be seeing ALL trains flick through the message box, just those which are delayed?

That may be it - some of the trains do appear to be leaving on time at other stations. BTM is definitely 2 minutes late every time though. Is there a fix for this? Log in to reply |

What I really should have said is 'workaround', rather than 'fix' as I know the sim itself won't be fixed any time soon. How do others playing this sim deal with this issue? Log in to reply |

It's a long time since I used Bristol (the broken bulk loader killed the immersion factor for me), but I have a memory that one could avoid the 2 minute reversal delay by instructing the reversing train to 'shunt forward' before it calls TRTS. Might be worth a try. (Same dodge works for Gloucester as well, where the 2 minute reversal bug is also an issue). Mike Log in to reply |
