Holme Green (the crossing near Biggleswade, I suppose) just phoned me 'Oi, I thought you said it was safe!' yet I fail to see which train has passed it. Save attached. Loader 4.6.6.

Loader 4.6.6.Mantis 18877 (core code bug in 4.6.5; fixed in 4.6.7). Crossings will sometimes strike in even though there's a protecting signal at red; that's what's happened here. Loader 4.6.6.About 3/4 mile south of Biggleswade if I remember rightly, though last time I went down that way there was no longer any sign of it. I remember it had a resident crossing keeper (Stan) who had to phone Biggleswade box https://signalbox.org/gallery/e/biggleswadesth.php when there was something to cross; my father would simply tell him what was about & where and it was up to him to act accordingly. A few years later Tim & I took a few photos there, on our first joint visit to the town; we still have the one of a Deltic we snapped (and later developed & printed in his darkroom). That was 1980 and I think even by then the crossing was no longer manned. The box, of course, had gone in '77 and was demolished by the end of '78; it was a few yards south of the relay room that replaced it. Railway working was very different in those days!
