Fab stuff: I will look forward to that lot. Looks as if much of the area I cover in my day job will soon be on SimSig then as the car hire depot I work from here in Bristol covers teritory all the way to Milford Haven / Pembroke Dock / Fishguard.

As per the opening post - "All timetable releases referenced are from the 8th of April 2015 set."

"Passengers for New Lane, should be seated in the rear coach of the train " - Opinions are my own and not those of my employer

Many thanks to Karl and James for developing the forth coming sims and to Mark, Meld and Andrew for the timetables.

80 miles of Single track, now that could cause some regulation nightmare XD

Ah yes the good old HoW line. Nice route to ride too and I will see if I cna create a TT for it that tests my theory of being able to get more trains up it than the current timetable allows.

Very interesting. Thank you. One small item I noticed on the Hereford Screenshot. It's Onibury, not Oninbury.

If the manual has them all listed you can control+F to find the relevant one.

88 on the Heart of Wales, 38 on the main line (plus 3 AHBs and 6 MCBs)

Good thing it wasn't Onanbury, or it would join Cockermouth in the list of railway placenames with potential for provoking inappropriate giggle fits.

It reminds me the very old SimSig forum, which AFAIK had a built-in moderation script or something like that. This has been triggered when Scunthorpe or Penistone (and similar locations with unfriendly words hidden in their names) were mentioned in the posts :)

But my personal favourite is the most obscene place on Earth: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fucking,_Austria

I'd been sent an image of the old box diagram with the crossing name on it (before NR changed it) - that brought quite a few chuckles in my Signalling group on Facebook when I posted it!

Are there any plans for an older era for stockport. No platform 0 and the centre sidings?

I should be able to get all the relevant information for it if needed?

Yes iondeed. For anyone not familiar with where this was it was in the area controlled by Attleborough.

A couple of pointers regarding the Heart of Wales line.
1. I notice that Ffairfach AOCL is given (270) but it crosses my mind that the LCs at Ammanford and Llandovery are not indicated. I have been in the box at Pantyffynnon but that was back in 2011 and I cannot recall if those two crossings are marked on the map in the box or not.

2. It looks as if a signal is missing from the layout at Pantyffynnon. At the station end of the crossover used by trains heading onto the GCG branch there is a disc signal with two discs one above the other. On the layout given behind the link in this thread it looks to me as if that is not included. I have a photo of it if there is any query.

Cheers,
Dave

Good suggestion. It would also be nice to see the Manchester East simulation with a 1984-1988 era option including the Fallowfield loop access from Gorton.

Well i was also thinking a pre 1989 timetable for East and stockport would have an hourly stockport - stalybridge service for a bit of variety

I'd certainly go for that, an earlier era would be far better than today not only for the variety of traffic, but also for regulating purposes. Back in the 1970s the MGR trains bound for Fiddlers Ferry were worked by pairs of Cl.76 locos to Guide Bridge & then replaced by a single Cl.47 which would then take the route from Stockport Jn over the single line to Heaton Norris Jn, thread it's way across the viaduct, through Stockport station & then diverge onto the line at Edgeley Jn No.2 towards Northenden Jn. Also the change from diesel - electric - diesel on the York - Shrewsbury - Yorkmail during the early hours would also create someting different from the modern era.
Even in the mid - late 1980s the binliner would run round on the through lines at Stockport station. I've got photos of 45046 doing the very thing taken back in 1985-1986 IIRC. I've got the stuff I need to do a 1987 timetable for both the Manchester South sim & Manchester Piccadilly if the sims can handle that? This would chain with the Peak District 1987 timetable I wrote for that sim as & when the chaining for those sims gets sorted.
The only thing that I've noticed that is wrong with Manchester South is the position on the panel of Heaton Norris Jn signalbox, unless it was plaved where it is due to the lack of room where it actually is between the Down & Up lines. I managed to get some photos of it whilst passing it on a train back in the 1990s.
