Unable to chain to Victoria South Eastern 22/05/2018 at 13:51 #108145

Good afternoon all.

Trying to chain VSE & LB (LB being main sim) together and in the message box I get "These signalboxes do not chain together"

Tried a couple of times then on the 3rd attempt got an access violation message on LB.

Also attempted to chain the other way about. LB - VSE, still not luck, same message in message box.

Am I missing something?

They're not compatible at the moment- updated versions of the Victoria simulations are currently being tested, which will be able to chain with LB.

Craig, Must admit it is a bit confusing as things stand at the moment. The simulation manual does give the impression that this is possible at the moment, however, Geoff’s posts in the release topic suggests that with Victoria they are still checking compatibility with the Groundhog Day timetable and the Victoria simulations will be re released when they have been. It could be that until the further release is done then the chain will not work. A tad annoying I know and I must admit a little confusing.

Geoff

Steamers post done as I was typing gives the response.

No worries guys. I was only trying it to answer ozrail's post in the release thread about VS441Y and it's slot function. Was curious myself as to how it simulated out between the two sims. So, no overall dire rush for me to have either of them chained. (that would be one massive headache even with ARS on!)

Thanks for prompt reply guys.

While the 3 sims have been tested together for chaining purposes, VicSE and VicC have yet to be re-released with these chaining features. I attempted to run all three together (with ARS on, of course!) and nearly self combusted with the number of trains. :)

One thing it did highlight is the need for a better way to check timetable compatibility between simulations.
