I have a issue with 5A41 which is the next working of 5A41-A, the latter arrives at Edinburgh on time and I have the TRTS advising the former is ready to depart however when I look in the train list, it's stop start stop start at every junction yet it remains in the platform at Edinburgh.

I don't have a issue with 5A41-A but rather 5A41 refuses to do what it's meant to do!

The booked platform is Platform 1 then it's meant to go around the Sub to Platform 19, I've even tried using Platform 20 then using the booked route to Platform 19 via the Sub and the same issue persists.

Apart from deleting both trains and having them as cancellations, why is the sim doing this?

I've attached a save from 0410 which will have the fault on so if anyone knows why it's happening or a fix please do tell me!

First reported on Mantis (#8027) on 11/12/2012. Still an unresolved bug. You might be able to fudge it by removing the second arrival at Edinburgh from the TT and then reinstating it once the train has gone round the Sub.

I believe the unresolved bug is one of the reasons for the hold up in releasing the Edinburgh sim in loader form.

Modern layout? or just loader version of the current set up? *Prays*

Although I am aware that any updates can and do depend on if the research is there such as track plans, signal diagrams etc I do hope that we will see a EGIP update which seeing as we have a EGIP update for Central Scotland and Motherwell would be nice to have Edinburgh brought up to date.

If that is possible then keeping the existing era as Pre EGIP and the new era as EGIP would be a good idea.

As to the bug, I didn't know it was a outstanding bug as 1. I've not played Edinburgh for a good few years and 2. I appreciate it was already highlighted on Mantis, I just thought I was doing something wrong somehow.

Been researching on Mantis. Bug 20863 is shown as resolved for issue with the next release of the Loader. This allows a train to complete its TT at a passing location, with an N action entered. The new Next TT will have the passing location as its first timing point and the train will continue at line speed rather than having to stop. This would allow the TT for 5A41 to be split somewhere after leaving the Waverley en route towards Niddrie and its final arrival back at the Waverley after the run round the Sub. Hopefully this will fudge the issue and allow Peter to look towards a loader version.

I have also had an issue with 5A41 but eventually found a "fudge" which does allow the sevice to proceed around the suburban line with some anomalies.
Firstly I set 5A41-1 to stop at the far end of the platform as it appeared to be trying to occupy the whole platform on arrival.
Secondly (this may not be necessary but haven't tested it without) I changed the passing time for Abbeyhill to 04:44.
Lastly I removed the passing time ticks from Abbeyhil, Craigentinny and Portobello.
5A41 departs from platform 1 now but it then stops at Abbeyhill, waits for rightaway and then then accelerates. The stop, wait, accelerate is repeated at Craigentinny and Portobello.
Once 5A41 reaches the suburban line proper it runs as it should all the way back to Edinburgh Waverley.

No idea what is happening but at least I can get the service to go round the sub.

You mean the new feature, not a bug. Mantis is used for features, to-do lists, ideas, and questions - not just bugs.

Apologies for my mis-characterisation. Second time I've done it (and second time I've had the slapped wrist) - I'll try not to do it again.

Unfortunately the main problem is with the mid-platform signal on Platform 17, I found it should work differently but can't get ARS to work it.

Is it because the position light in association with E483 would trigger first when the route is set from E483 to E485?

Is there any TT available that requires that PLS? If not, for the sake of a minor difference to the actual signalling plan at the time, just remove it or effectively 'disconnect' the pls and make it a main aspect with R/G as it is just now in real life on 16?

Looking at pictures and where the mid road connects onto 17(practically at the end of the platform, there isn't any room for a shunt from 17 - MS nor any signals from the very small space that there is from the end of platform 17 into the MS.

Craig
