Hi, In the attached I had asked 4R63 to shunt forward from Grays Third Line having advanced its next position to Grays in order to dispatch it early. It promptly obeyed and started moving forward... but now seems to be limited to 15mph and holding up a class 6 behind it. Earlier in the sim I stepped up the TT and called forward 5E27 from Grays station and it did exactly the same thing, trundling 15mph all the way to EHMEMUD and arriving 22L. I've not seen this happen before, has something changed in the core? Thanks Jamie Post has attachments. Log in to view them. Jamie S (JAMS) Log in to reply |

Don't forget that if you ask a train to shunt forward it proceeds at restricted speed to the next signal. You can avoid that by abandoning the TT then after the train moves off, reinstating the TT.

Sadly it's not just to the next signal, it's seemingly indefinite.

If you asked a train to shunt forward and it has/or you shortly after give him a proceed aspect while he was still moving he will continue forward runing at a lower speed as you had asked the driver to shunt forward, he will do so until such a time as you stop him at a red signal, after he has stopped you can then give him the route and he will continue on his way running at normal speed.

Shunt forward is a "get out of jail" card when a train is stopped in the wrong position for some reason. If you want to cheat by making a train leave early, do as Postal suggests and abandon its timetable.
