First of all I want to say thank you for releasing the two Australian sims, I've been looking forward to this for a while.

I'm up to 0215 so far with Moss Vale and everything is generally working well except for the following issues:-

1. Train 2228 without loco at Medway Jn (mentioned in another thread)
2. Train TM98 0115 Tahmoor Colliery - Unanderra called up from MV15 signal at Moss Vale Jn claiming hhe wasn't booked via
the North Fork (instructed to bypass and went on his way).
3. Train TM98 stopped at the LOS board at Suitor Road LC despite a main route being set from MV26 to 34.6 at Calwalla.
4. Train 2124 0105 Lynwood Quarry - Picton called in claiming not booked via Bargo, Tahmoor Colliery and Tahmoor.
Instructed to bypass Bargo and Tahmoor Colliery and then abandoned TT for Tahmoor.

I appreciate this is a preview so I'm not being critical, just highlighting bugs that can hopefully be ironed out before the full release. Thanks again for all the hard work.

Regards,

Phil.

Train 2290 0310 Medway Boral Sdgs - Maldon enters the sim with no loco.
Train 1233 (0216 enters at Picton) for Berrima Boral Sdgs is only timed to Berrima Jn rather than being timed to reverse and set back into the sidings so stops on the junction showing no more timetabled trips.

And the TT analyser throws up a number of trains that are either "never used", or terminate "with no onward working".
Two million people attempt to use Birmingham's magnificent rail network every year, with just over a million of them managing to get further than Smethwick.

Regarding the trains entering with no loco, I've found the problem. The relevant train types have no traction type selected.

Thanks for keeping all the issues together and please keep them here in the one place, so much easier to keep track rather than searching for individual threads.

The TT is being worked on, and most of the issues mentioned are known, but may need a few more days before an update is released.

3AB6 01:07 Joppa Jct dep: train does not spawn and/or no train renumbered to 3AB6
2PS6 02:31 Joppa Jct dep: train does not spawn and/or no train renumbered to 2PS6

Looking at the timetable of both trains I guess it should be 3AB6 01:07 enters Joppa Jct and 2PS6 02:31 enters Joppa Jct

a few more that havent been mentioned:

trains from moss vale - picton call wrong route at MV60 complaining that they are not booked via berrima jct.

trains between Mittagong and barago call wrong route at all signals on the up complaining wrong route - not booked via mittagong.

trains looped onto the down loop at moss vale call wrong route at MV37 when routed onto the refuge. they do still accept the refuge as a platform at moss vale so presumably it should be an acceptable route (ive been looping early freights)

a general trend ive noticed (especially on the down between tahmoor and Moss Vale) is freights gaining loads of time. I'm up to 4am and I havent had a single freight not require looping at moss vale due to being really early. all have entered on time. it may be prototypical that the WTT has a lot of leeway but i recall a similar issue with train performance in carlisle so thought it was worth mentioning.

not really a bug but i cant find any reference in the manual as to what the little blue sub aspects are on some of the signals on the sim.

again more of a question than a bug. i had the overnight up XPT being closely followed by a late running freight. i chose to run the freight behind it from cootamundra instead of allowing it to pass however it kept time with the XPT. is there much of a difference in passenger and freight speeds?

final request - given how long some of those freights are, could the manual include the loop lengths for all the various loops, refuges and yard through lines to aid with regulating?

so far really loving these sims. a big jump from the UK. NSW signalling feels like UK MAS signalling had a kid with american practice.

Gradients have not yet been put into TC data. This heavily affects sectional running time. Reported and will be fixed before full release.

Referenced in the Australian signals guide in the section 'A' lights/plates. Since copy and paste is so easy, however ........

'A' lights/plates

An Absolute signal may be augmented with a blue or white 'A' lamp mounted as the lowest indicator on the signal post (see below re Sydney underground signals). With the 'A' light extinguished, the signal is Absolute. With the 'A' light illuminated, the signal is Permissive. In the Sydney metropolitan area and at some regional locations, the 'A' light is used when a controlled signal has been placed in "Auto" mode.

On the underground lines in Sydney, automatic (Permissive) signals are arranged like Absolute signals (IE: vertical) due to space limitations. Most of these signals have an 'A' plate mounted to the tunnel wall next to the signal. Tunnel signals with an 'A' light will have this indicator mounted on top of the signal. At most underground stations, the Automatic signal at the departure end of the platform is fitted with an 'A' light and has an 'E' Emergency Replacement function. When the Emergency Replacement function is activated, the signal is held at Stop and the 'A' light extinguishes, making the Stop aspect Absolute.

In regional areas, some (not all) automatic signals that protect Ground Frame released points may be dressed as an Absolute signal with an 'A' light. The 'A' light is normally lit and only extinguishes if the Ground Frame has been released or if the signal protects facing points and those points have lost detection. A signal with an illuminated 'A' light in SimSig will show a small cyan aspect in the lowest lamp.

Another victim of the gradients issue. For the record, XPT's have a max speed of 160km/h (100mph). Fast freight can do 115km/h (70mph).

I have a train standing at HN22 and occupying tracks as far back as THN28BT. Signal HN24 had not released its route, so I tried to cancel it by right-clicking. As expected I got the "120 seconds approach locking" message. However, 120 seconds later, the route did not release; the "120 seconds approach locking" message repeated, and keeps repeating every two minutes.

Edit: oops, spotted the same bug has been reported for a different signal on another thread.

ST22 needs to be routed into the Platform Road as it’s booked to stop at Cootamundra. That is, towards signal CA46 and not towards CA42.

Just had a Down train pass signal 178.7 and "disappear" - the train has gone off track T165_6AT and it has returned to white, but track T176_3ATS has remained at green and the signal has stayed clear. The description has not stepped. After a pause of about 20 seconds or so, T173_3ATS shows occupied and 178.7 goes to Danger.

The train involved is 8922 tabled to arrive at Milvale at 07:06. However looking at the timetable's Incident Control Panel, it shows that the train will be 69 minutes late.

The phone call should not have occurred for another 69 minutes. It appears that "Events" are out of sync!

Isn't that basically the same issue where the train entering warning for Garnqueen/Heatherbell LC in Motherwell or the dropping approach TC from Ashburys in Manchester Piccadilly happen too early for late-running trains?

One more to add: I have a backlog of trains at Moss Vale (due to my poor traffic management…oops!). The train at the back of the queue (2230) is bobbing between “Moving at 0km/h” and “Stopped at signal 152.6”. The train is, in fact, sitting at signal 155.4, which is displaying yellow. 152.6 is indeed displaying double red, being held there by the train in front. Is this a bug or is this just one of the intricacies of the panel? I know that both signals are automatic, which means that drivers can pass them under their own authority, and I am aware that the train detection arrangements are different to what I am used to, so could that be a factor too?

I have a save for your perusal…

With a route set from G58 to G78, G58 seems to step back to double-red if a train passes 220.6. I have a save from immediately after 3MB9 receiving an ACoA at G58.

Correction: this is actually as a result of G78 stepping up to yellow. This seems to cause a cascade back, reverting G64 from yellow to double-red, and, consequently, G58 back from its junction aspect (red over three-yellows) back to double-red. Cancelling G78 resets the cascade.

I have another save attached that should illustrate this, if needed.
