Some Conditional freight trains in the Conditional WTTs are shown to run at 50mph despite the TD showing Cl.7. I suspect hat that changed in 1981-1982 when the Mandatory & Conditional WTTs were replaced the the relevant Passenger & Parcels & Freight WTTs. Can't recall seeing this in other post 1981 WTTs. Although technically only freight trains with speeds over 50mph should be designated as Cl.6 such as MGR empties tun as Cl.6, but have a max speed of 55mph. Trains with a maximum speed of 50mph tend to be classified as Cl.7.
There are some freigbhts in the Conditional WTT shown as Cl.6, but have listed a ,ax speed of 35mph are also in the Carlisle 1979-1980 timetable.

Gutted! Been absolutely ridiculous at work until this evening. Sat down to get Carlisle sorted and start... kaput!

I hope the likes of John and Pascal are aware that I’m so excited about their work I’m already courting local suppliers for a new device...

Until then I shall have to jealously watch

I have found it easier to put the 3 shunters 0T01-3 and the 3 shunts 5T01-3 in the scratch pad so I can click on each of them to find out their next workings. In addition I have sticky notes on each of the shunting locations and platforms just to try and keep track of everything. I'm not sure how I'll cope when I have to look at other areas of the sim rather than just concentrating on the station!

Yes that's how I run this timetable by adding in the various shunts on the scratch pad. that tends to make things easier when u need to check up on things.

I've found that the scratchpad is sized nicely to set up a table of all platforms and sidings with headcodes and the next scheduled departure times, with space for spares too.
I've been very much enjoying this timetable. Although frustratingly, I've now had SimSig crash twice just prior to the 7am checkpoint. :/

I gets tricky when there are multiple 0T01s and 5T01s in the sim at the same time though!!

Use edit timetable on the F2 train list and it gives the timetable for the individual trains.

Is it possible to add a mantis request for the UID to be searched in a sticky note instead of a TD as this would make things easier

Yes, I'm fully aware of that, but it isn't a quick look up, ability to enter UID in a sticky would be good.

Yeah, I've just hit 1pm on the Mon timetable, and suddenly lots of loco swaps and ground frame movements have overwhelmed me, things really do snowball out of control quickly. I really need to keep a closer eye on the train descriptions in the F2 list, as they are rather helpful for explaining the portions of the movements. Forgetting to remove a loco before putting on the new one really didn't help things recover, either..

Possible bug?
6L81C Carlisle Yard - Tebay Sidings, I think the intention of the schedule is to decouple in the DGL, run around via the main lines, shunt out onto the down and then back into the engineers siding.
I think the schedule needs DGL to be specified for the Tebay stop. The train accepted the wrong route onto the Up line where it decoupled and fouled the points, refusing to move at all.

There was a change sometime around '83, but I don't recall exactly when. Before the change, the classification referred to maximum speed, so for instance a class 6 was reckoned as 60mph maximum (and a cl7 45 max). That led to the ridiculous situation that if you had a train of all ferry vans (fit for 100 kmph, which actually equals 62mph), TOPS would spit out a class 4 train list. It didn't help the regulating... After the change, class 6 was used for a train capable of at least 60mph, class 7 for at least 45mph, so those pesky ferry vans went as cl6 (as they always should have done) and if a cl7 was actually capable of 50mph rather than 45, it just meant it cleared sections quicker than the signalmen expected, which was never a disadvantage.

Of course, this being the railway, there are exceptions to everything. But they would tend to be local or regular moves and therefore well understood by those who had to operate them.

That's a sim data issue rather than a TT issue. There are no line or path codes in the sim data for Tebay so DGL can't be entered into the TT and neither can a wrong route call be generated. Logged on the issue tracker for Tom to look at.

However, I'd be wary about hard-coding a wrong route call as that would limit the signallers ability to let the train run if it was due to recess at Tebay to allow something past but things were out of sequence and there was clear space to get the train to Shap or Grayrgg before recessing.

A saved game would be more use than an indistinct PNG.

It doesn't mention a join anywhere. It states its next working is an undecided 0T02.

Which I will tidy up for the next TT release.

When the TT was in process of being written I had to get the pilot onto the back of 1M14DTO or 1M14DMTX so the TT needed 2 variants (0T02/$CSTP2DTO and 0T02/$CSTP2DMTX). 0T02/$CSTP2CMX will form one of those two versions depending on whether the DotW decision has called TUE or not. However, during testing I found that joining on the pilot then detaching from 1M14 put a lot of time pressure into the operation as it could only happen after the loco had dropped off the front due to the way SimSig works. So although possibly not prototypical, the shunter is detaching 5M14MX from the back of the train while the pilot is buffering up. That means the pilot only needs to join to 5M14MX, not a choice of two trains, so I can simplify things to CSTP2DMX only. It'll be in the next TT update. It won't affect the operation or the shunt moves, just makes the TT look a little tidier.

However, it looks like I already had the idea of simplifying things then only got half a job done. Pending the revised TT being pushed out 5M14MX needs editing. Where it currently has J: 0T02/$CSTP2DMTX that needs a decision adding of DotW / [not] TUE. Then an additional J: 0T02/$CSTP2DTO with a decision DotW / TUE needs to be put into the TT.

Apologies.

Edit: In fact there is probably no need for an edit of the current TT. IIRC the core code only reads the first 4 characters of the TD to match up joins. As both pilot workings are 0T02 then the join should take place anyway. My memory is probably working OK or there would have been lots of complaints already so it will be a cosmetic change for the TT to make it look prettier.

showing some trains blocking at a signal K1 ... 6M60 but I have no idea where that is. 6m60 at the time is heading round bog junction and not blocked. 9T30 as well just before it and it had to be talked past the red.

K1 is internal to Kingmoor Yard and not visible in the sim. You may have given the yard indigestion talking trains past reds.

9T30 was stopped at K1 but was clearly visible heading into Dentonholme ,6M60 hung in the same place. It was 9T30 stopped at a proceed aspect into Dentonholme that made me talk it past and it rolled nicely into the yard, but K1 is not that signal.... so strange.
