How come Rugby South doesn't have Knowlhill Junction which according to Open Train Times is sited between Denbigh Hall North Junction and Milton Keynes Central Platforms 5 and 6? Just wondering that's all guys! Log in to reply |

According to the schematic in the SA, Milton Keynes S Jn is the set of crossovers just to the South of Milton Keynes Central. Knowlhill Junction is where the Down Fast and Reversible Fast split North of Denbigh Hall N Jn. Presumably it would make the screen too cluttered if you started putting in every junction name on what is an overview picture. Copies of the SAs and Periodic Operating Notices can be downloaded from the Network Rail website. The top section of the page covers access to the electronic version of the SAs by creating an account etc. but further down the page are links to download PDFs of the documents. “In life, there is always someone out there, who won’t like you, for whatever reason, don’t let the insecurities in their lives affect yours.” – Rashida Rowe Last edited: 05/11/2018 at 11:42 by postal Reason: None given Log in to reply |

SimSig as a general rule only puts in junctions where trains can be timed at, having had a look I can't find any TIPLOCs for either Knowshill Junction, and Milton Keynes South Jnc, in fact the only place I can find reference to them in official data is the SA.

Network Rail add tiplocs all the time. It's quite possible the names did not exist when the Sims were built. Line codes also change: Rugby centre has a pending update due to a recent NR change. SimSig Boss Log in to reply |

https://www.opentraintimes.com will tell you if a location is valid, and is usually well up-to-date. By "tell you", I mean on the home page if you start typing a location name in. It will pop-up a list of possible locations, their CRS codes, and their TIPLOCs. Neither Knowlhill Junction or Milton Keynes South Junction exist. I don't know where Karl looked but Corpus also doesn't list them. Neither are particularly useful for timing anyway.
