It has been reported in today's local paper that the FLIRT units have started to arrive in the region for testing. The unit (from what I can make out from the pictures) is 755405, passed though Ipswich Rail Station being hauled by 66002 (Still in EWS livery) From a bit of research it looks like it ran as 5P99 Ripple Lane Exchange Siding's to Norwich Crown Point, Which left and arrived aproximatly 30 mins late. (The pictures were supplied to the EDP by Greater Anglia) Post has attachments. Log in to view them. The fact that it's being hauled direct by the 66 is an interesting one, I thought these were incompatible with normal locos?

Here's a youtube clip of the unit arriving a Crown Point https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IcdH1GDULeY I feel sorry for the poor persons having to proceed the train on foot, from the Wensum Curve to the shunt Spur and then back Last edited: 15/11/2018 at 17:53 by MarkC Reason: None given Log in to reply |

Quote:The fact that it's being hauled direct by the 66 is an interesting one, I thought these were incompatible with normal locos? It's probably got an attachable Dellner on it. It'll go onto the 66s hook and have the Dellner on the other end sort of like how the HST emergency loco coupler is, but obviously those are buckeye styled. James F (or JF in game) Log in to reply |
