The only down side being I'm sat at the only pod in this sub ROC with anything in it as the other 6 await the transfer of panels from KX and part of Peterborough - it's like being back in a single manned location. So at the moment you have the situation where you're managing the Hertford Loop in York ROC as a island basically with Kings Cross still controlling the fringes and you're miles away? Sounds surreal for now until the other Kings Cross panels move. And any calls from the signals in that area go straight to York ROC not Kings Cross PSB anymore? The other thing I'm wondering about is when Kings Cross does move, not sure if they're doing it panel by panel - is there any order in which they're going to do that? As a example do they start with Panel 1 or Panel 5? Log in to reply |

AFAIK, the plan is for Panels 3, 4 & 5 (re-control only) to migrate next year with Panels 1 and 2 (re-signalling and re-control) moving the following year. So when the likes of Hertford North have to call the signaller as they have to as part of their daily duties, they're actually talking to someone in York?

They could off-shore it to Bangalore like Virgin Media. Though not quite sure how drivers would take to signalers insisting on reading the script first and then being asked to climb the gantry to check the signal is plugged in and what the lights are doing before S&T can be called. I believe New Barnet to Biggleswade and Royston is now on workstations in York ROC since the Bank Holiday weekend.

According to OpenTrainTimes live maps the boundaries between Kings Cross PSB and York ROC are: - Up Lines: Just prior to Oakleigh Park with K506 & K508 being York ROC's exit signals - Down Lines: just on the KGX side of Wood Green Tunnel with K475 & K477 being the first signals for York ROC https://www.opentraintimes.com/maps/signalling/ecm1 The boundary point on OTT's Royston map still has "K" instead of York ROC, as does the Peterborough map so I don't know what the boundaries are on those lines.
