I'm in the process of creating a full Mon-Fri Leeds City Timetable with ARS, and on testing I'm finding that sometimes with trains that are involved in a platform share, the original train against the buffer stops does not reappear in the describer after the train on top of it has departed. Its there ok - confirmed by the train list facility, but I've had to reimpose it which is a bit of a pain. Can anyone confirm if when writing the TT, the correct way should be to select PS with the arrival headcode of the train which is already at the platform buffer stop, or has it got to be the train its forming ? I have used the train it forms in the TT up to now. I'm finding this intermittent problem with the bays Plats 1-5, I've had no issue as yet with P17. Thanks for any advise on this. Phil... It looks for the headcode(s) specified in the PS: activities in berths in the platform. It must find those headcode(s) in the platform to set the permissive route.

There are a limited number of berths - A, B, and (for 1 and 6 only) C. All arriving trains step into the R berth (last arrival; not the berth under the "rear" label on the screen), and interpose from C back to A. So as long as the combined number of outbound TDs is equal to or less than 2 (or 3 for P1 and P6) then ARS should interpose. Even in real life signallers have to use other means to remember train IDs if there aren't enough TD berths. Ah ok I understand the method of the interpose now. That was the main problem. Thanks Geoff Log in to reply |

I have Platform that shares 3x trains over a period of time for a timetable. I have 2x 150s 80m already on the platform at Exact Near End arrvied from the South. I have 1x 156 46m arriving from the North into the platform and have put Far End -100 The 2x 150s 80m leave the Platform to the South. I have then 2x 156s 92m arriving from the South on the platform with Near End applied. I have then 1x 158 46m arriving from the North on the platform with Near End applied. The 158 leaves and then the 156 leaves both for the North. If I put Far End -100 on 1x 156 46m arriving from the North would that 100m from the far end or near end of the Platform? meaning a 92m train can fit in front of it using that 100m? Only if the near end and far end stopping points have been defined as the same point on the same track circuit - they don’t have to be and there'd be legitimate reasons for them to be defined separately. You would be better of setting the lone 156 as NX<adj> to leave room for the 158; than rely on the F and N points being the same. Also simplifies replatforming in the event everything isn’t going perfectly when the end user runs the timetable. Log in to reply The following user said thank you: HST125Scorton |

I observed this last Sunday and found it quite strange but the platform itself can just fit a 11-Car Pendo in. Aaron (AJRO) | Timetable Writer Log in to reply |
