Hi, If you have a problem like this it's useful to have a saved game file (.ssg) uploaded so we can see what the status of relevant trains and signals. Thanks Jamie Jamie S (JAMS) Log in to reply |

1M13 25(MO)/No.330(MX) WN Cl.86/0+LM Stock NDV+Mk.1 BSK+3SK+2SLSTP+SLF+SLSTP+SLF+[SLCT attached at Carlisle]+NDV) Have you done the shunting moves to attach additional cars? 1M13 will not move until the shunting has been completed. Barry, Sydney, New South Wales, Australia Log in to reply |

Im having trouble with this train 1M13 I dont seem to be able to get it moving once its got into the platfrom? The train performs a series of activities at Carlisle: some vehicles (5M13) are detached and by one of the station pilots (running as 0T02), which then attaches the removed vehicles to some other coaches in platform 8. All of the coaches are then re-attached to 1M13, and the station pilot drops off again before 1M13 departs. The splits and joins happen automatically, provided the relevant trains are in the correct place. Quote: Im very new to all thisI'd recommend trying an easier simulation if you're new to SimSig; the Carlisle simulation is quite complex, and the 1979 timetable is challenging even for experienced players. Shunt moves like the one described above occur many times throughout the timetable. I'll offer to you that the Carlisle timetable being discussed here is arguably the most difficult in all of SimSig. Even with delays and failures totally turned off you can find yourself in a massive tangle very quickly. Many trains will arrive at Carlisle and change locomotives, or detach cars from the rear, or attach cars, or any combination of such. Keeping track of all the shunting moves at Carlisle is no easy task, especially as a lot of moves use the same number, and many sidings are not track-circuited so you can't immediately tell if they are occupied. While we're all happy to help, I honestly believe you'll have a much more rewarding time in SimSig if you play some other, more sane simulations and timetables to build your skills, then come back. There's no shame in it! I've been playing SimSig for a long time and still knot myself up with this timetable. Log in to reply |

The 2009 timetable for Carlisle would definetely be a, good choice for beginners. It has less traffic in a more steady flow with less Station working.
