I have just been commissioned to write a book about the Bakerloo Line (including all the way to Watford Junction and Croxley Green) which will, of course, include some illustrations. While I can take photos of stuff in the present and visible from public areas, that's only part of the story. I'd really like to have some good pictures from the past - the older the better - or of stuff that the public doesn't see, such as depots.

If anyone has stuff that they think I'd be interested in, please email me at clive@SimSig.co.uk (not PM; I don't tend to see those very quickly). At this stage, don't worry about huge files; a description and a thumbnail would suffice.

I do have a budget for this from the publisher but it's not a big one, so I could only afford to pay a few pounds per picture. I would need an appropriate copyright licence to be signed. All the pictures used
would be credited with the name of the photographer and (if different) copyright owner.

Thanks in advance.

All I can say at this point is best of luck with your book and looking forward to seeing it published

Thanks for the plug. If anyone wants a copy, I can do you a discounted one at £15 plus P&P (£2 in the UK, or free if you want to collect from Cambridge). Email me if interested.

Not from me, but it is from Crowood (see the link Peter posted). I know they do Kindle and ePub formats.

Thanks for that Clive I'll purchase a copy shortly using the link posted on this thread. In the new Train Sim World2 (TSW2) they have the Bakerloo Line on that now & you can drive the 72 stock between Elephant & Castle & Harrow & Wealdstone or VV. It's very good, except for the fact that when you are running next to the WCML nothing is ever seen on that railway. Other than that it's excellent.

Geoff Marshall visited Dovetail Games who made TSW2 in this video and he tried it for himself.

Thank you, both of you.

I don't know if there will be another book; depends whether I can find the time (it took a lot more effort than I thought).

If anyone wants to try before they buy, there is an extract from the book starting on Page 62 of the December 2020 edition of Modern Railways.

More precisely, the first half is an extract from the book; the second half is a piece they asked me to write about changes since the book went into production (i.e. Covid-19). I didn't realize they were just going to jam them together like that.

The photos are all mine. Geoff may remember me taking one of them.
