A loader version of Southampton would be lovely, especially if it were larger and fringed with existing Portsmouth / Lancing areas

Southampton would come under Eastleigh PSB so you would get both at once and such a sim would also fringe with the Salisbury PSB sim. Such a sim would indeed fringe with Portsmouth but not with Lancing. If you wanted to cover the gap through to Lancing then the following would be needed to be covered which could probably be done with one sim which could probably be called "South Central": - Bedhampton to (I think) Woodgate (Chichester PSB) - Woodgate (I think) to Ford (Barnham PSB) The latter could be made to also cover the areas of Arundel PSB and Littlehampton SB and thereby fringe with Lancing at Angmering. In addition the sim for Lancing would need to be extended westwards to cover Worthing (closed 04-Jun-1988), Goring-by-Sea (closed 25-Jun-1988) and Angmering (closed 25-Jun-1988: the website of Phil Deaves gives all three as having passed to Lancing on closure) to Ford Junction where it would fringe with any sim covering Arundel I do not know if such plans exist. Personally I am still hopeful that one day a Basingstoke simulation would appear. One day - ho hum!

I wouldn't mind Tisbury to Exeter in the Basingstoke ASC panel layout to fill the gap between Salisbury and Exeter sims and I am hopeful that a sim for that may one day appear. https://photos.signalling.org/index?/category/31-west_of_england_panel If the Basingstoke ASC layout was to be released to the same layout as the panel in the ASC then such a sim would chain to Eastleigh PSB (which covers Southampton) through the Micheldever route (fringe Oakley, nr.
