Hello! I am Eramsor and I love trains. I love love love trains. True one-side love (lol).
The weird about me is that I also love control rooms and, SimSig? Controlling TRAINS !?!?!? My best dream haha. I am from Greece so I do not know any of the routes on SimSig but who cares (right?).

Newb question: What's the smallest/easiest freeware/donationware simulator? I would like to start from baby steps and make my way up

Lancing and Royston are the smallest two but Lancing is only small as the sim does not include Lancing's full area of control.

If you look at this page of the SimSig Wiki it lists the simulations available, categorised into Beginner, Intermediate and Pro categories.

Of course there's also the Drain... don't come much smaller or simpler than that!

Greetings to the madness zone known as SimSig :)

My suggestion would be to start with Royston to get used to operating the simulations, then if you wanted to practice your level crossing work, while still on a fairly simple layout I would then suggest Lancing.
