Does anybody happen to know when the trailing crossover at Peckham Rye (South London Line) was put in (and taken out??) It is shown on this map: http://carto.metro.free.fr/cartes/metro-tram-london/ But is absent from both eras of the London Bridge ASC sim and from the OpenTrainTimes map: https://www.opentraintimes.com/maps/signalling/vir1#LINK_2 Which makes me think it could have been installed after 2014 and lifted before 2019. A very short life, so I'm wondering what the real story is. Log in to reply |

It looks like it was taken out around 2012, according to Google Earth's imagery. Panel photos in the signalbox indicate it was clipped and padlocked at the time the photo was taken in 2008 - no signalled moves, and no ground frame. I don't know when it was installed.

It's already appearing in the plans for the original London Bridge PSB resignalling, and is shown as being clipped and padlocked even back then.

The station platforms were reconstructed in 1961 when at the same time a depot at Peckham Rye Jn and coal sidings to the East of the station were taken up[1]. So my guess is that the crossover would have been taken out of use then or sometime surely after? Thanks Jamie [1]. London Railway Atlas, 4th Ed.
