Currently, random delays are, well, random.

For instance, I just was notified that train stabled in a platform for service the next AM would be delayed...by 3 minutes - over 6 hours before scheduled departure.

That seems...odd.

Maybe add a check such that if (anticipated delay) is a tiny fraction of the time remaining before departure, just don't implement it?

A more enhanced delay control panel would be excellent.

creating delays/random delays on entry points would be a good feature
+ A while back I did suggest platform delays EG TRTS , road off - train doesn't move, then phones in with a problem. That's rather common in real life.

I would advocate stripping off train failures from delays. It’s very difficult to have a scenario where you want to manage fairly beefy delays through an area without at the same time having multiple trains fail at multiple stations.

I agree, I have had delays because of the wrong sort of food trolley , on services that I know do not have them, passenger disturbance on locos, in the Scottish Sims they could be weather related..

Also I do run sims with delays , but in such as the Tynside one , the knock on effect on the Metro is horrendous.
