Yes, they can fail such that they are no longer detected in either position. It's also possible to fix *some* points failures by "exercising" them with the manual setting - it's random whether that works or not, and how many times you need to try. If it works, you'll get a phone call from the Technician explaining they've been fixed, even though he hasn't had to go to site! Log in to reply |

They can ring you up and tell you they've failed, or are likely to fail if you move them, before you know about it. They can also tell you've they've been fixed before the team on the ground tell you at times as well. They seem to fail one way or the other in the sim. Be good if that good happen in SimSig for disruption simulation

Only once ever in years of SimSig have I had points 'fail in transit' to use the NSW vernacular. It basically destroyed all trains coming out of Kings Cross so yes, it was indeed a challenge.
