Playing Three Bridges with lamp/signal failure options on. This should be random I thought but it appears that so far in the first 4 hours 00:01-04:00 all of them have been the signal and then the proceeding one or the one before, not appearing very random to me. Then one will be 'repaired' and the one the other side may go next. So far I have worked my way down from East Croydon to Purley oaks with that stepping formation of failures. Happy to provide my save for someone to pick it up and see how they fair. Just interested if that's a sim issue or core software issue that people are already aware of and if they are sorry for raising it again Log in to reply |

Are these all on a particularly busy section of track? Failures are meant to be random but based in how often points and signals change so it might just be law of averages, especially overnight when not all lines have traffic.

There is a core code issue causing signals reading onto a failed signal to flicker very rapidly, which in turn vastly increases their chances of subsequently failing, too: See #27023 on Mantis.
Two million people attempt to use Birmingham's magnificent rail network every year, with just over a million of them managing to get further than Smethwick. Log in to reply The following user said thank you: Albert |

The outstanding bug is that the signal prior to the unlit signal is changing between red and yellow every cycle. There are 2 cycles a second so each minute is changing state 120 times which vastly biases to end up being the next failure. Very occasionaly you will notice the filckering signal on the panel. So esp if you have multiple failures and sections of auto signals, you will notice the signal failures walking backwards down the track Log in to reply |
