The easiest way to do this is to take one of the existing timetables and delete all the trains from it, you'll be left with the stock types configured.

As ever, compare to an existing timetable and see if any have been set there. You can find the dwell times on the Train Planning Rules document which you can download. https://www.networkrail.co.uk/industry-and-commercial/information-for-operators Log in to reply |

One thing to bear in mind is that there is a difference between the timetabled dwell time and the time that train will actually take in the platform. As mentioned already, the Rules of the Plan will give you a good guide of the minimum recommended dwell times in a timetable (usually 30 seconds for DMU stock and 1 minute for traditional loco-hauled stock). However that is flexed depending on loadings, e.g. 1Y10 is a DMU but booked 1 minute in the platform at Bicester Village and High Wycombe by way of example. Many of the services booked to stop at Wembley Stadium during event traffic will have more generous loading/unloading dwell times, e.g. 2/3 minutes. Something that is difficult to reproduce in any simulation is the effect that a delay or cancellation will have on the dwell of the following trains. This can either manifest itself as one extended dwell for the first train after a cancellation, or continuous extended delay at each station en-route resulting in progressive time loss; departing the first station 1 min late, second station 2 mins late, etc. To get the realistic standard dwells, you are more than welcome to use the values shown in the downloadable timetable for Marylebone Oct 15 SX. Happy to help with any further enquiries. Cheers, Greg Log in to reply The following user said thank you: Kimb01996 |

One minute at Bicester Village is often insufficient in reality as well

Although note that the default values for station/terminate reverse are quite a bit on the low side as compared to regular turnaround times for passenger trains. Saying "a bit on the low side" is really missing the point: no value is ever going to be "right" but at least you have some control over it now.Jan in post 123449 said:On the other hand, if a train arrives at a terminus late, they'll probably get it turned round much faster than the RoTP allowance (where said allowance is greater than 10 minutes).Steamer in post 123430 said:. . . and the Rules of the Plan often defines location specific turnaround times much longer than the default times (SimSig default or user-entered in the train type tab) for the particular type of stock. You don't have to set those if you don't want to or don't have the information- leave as 00:00:00 and the SimSig default values will be used.
