Hello,

I need help with routing. There's a screenshot but the save is also there as well.

5D98 is not letting me set a route for some reason. I don't understand what's wrong nor why it has purple text (haven't found anything on the internet)
This is Aston in case it helps

Thanks in advance

Click on 5D98 to check its timetable. You'll see that it's booked to run via Lichfield Low Level (L.L.), which is on the branch below the route you've selected. That's why the driver has called in with a wrong route notification.

As in the Portsmouth case you posted earlier, you need to cancel the existing route - and also deselect the manual point alignment you've set (the blue marks). Because the train is seen by the signalling system as "approaching" the route already set, it'll take a couple of minutes for the approach-locking to drop out. Then you'll be able to set a new route for this train.

You should also read the simulation manual for Aston, which will explain some details about the slots needed to handle routes over the Lichfield L.L. branch.

5D98 is phoning in wrong route because it is booked to go to Litchfield L.L which is the line going below Lichfield Trent Valley. To set a route down that line, you need to request a slot by pressing the green circle to the left of the Slot To Label. When the slot it given, you'll then beable to set a route from TV44 to the Grey signal (LD47) on the line below. You have also keyed the points immediately in front of your train (the blue marker on the track), you need to left click on those points to allow the to be free to move

The purple text is telling you the Automatic Route Setting (ARS) state of the train. Purple ID in ARS enabled sims shows that the train is not controlled by ARS, Blue shows they are. In the mode you're opened Aston Sim in, ARS is not enabled in the sim so the colours are not applicable here (though they are present)

When I click on the train nothing shows up. Usually, it does but for some reason it's not

That sounds possibly like you hit the minimise button on the TT window rather than the Close button on the TT window. Have a look at the bottom left of the screen, do you have a minimised TT window.

The other thought, With Aston being an ARS sim, there is an option for the timetable to be displayed in the message window. If this is happening, open the options window (F3) go to the ARS tab and change the 'Clicking on a train description shows' drop down and select the popup information
