I know the .EXE sims are old, but I was interested in trying them out. I had great fun with the Euston one and then I thought I would try Gloucester. Now, Gloucester is much bigger than Euston, so the whole track diagram doesn't fit into the window meaning you have to scroll. Unfortunately, each time I try to scroll left or right everything freezes for like 10-20 seconds. I tried Bristol and the same thing happens. Has anyone experienced this? Log in to reply |

Personally I haven't had any issues with either Bristol or Gloucester simulations freezing while scrolling at all. In fact with none of the pre-loader simulations has this occurred. Sorry I can't be of any help for you.

As it happens, I'm running Gloucester at the moment, and it's fine...

I personally prefer to hot-key rather than scroll (I know, some sims don't have hot keys to navigate with). It's much quicker to get you to where you want to look at.

Let me see if that works or of there is still a huge lag. Edit: I tried the hot keys and they work instantaneously. Thus, as long as I remember to use those and not scroll then it works just fine. How are you scrolling? Some people have experienced problems clicking in the scrollbar (away from the slider) instead of grabbing the slider itself and moving left/right with it.

Also works fine if I either click or drag the scrollbar with my mouse, so it seems something restricted to when i swipe on the mouse surface. Log in to reply |

That's ok if you know where you want to be and look at one particular thing. In an intense game you need to be continuously scrolling back and forth to keep track of everything happening.

Haven't had anything similar, but I've myself taken to scrolling by clicking on overview window for larger sims. Certainly felt much less fiddly than the scroll bar, and it did help a bit on keeping tabs on things otherwise off-screen.
