Hi all, Subject to approval, version 1.1.22 of my Spring 2020 Timetable will be available for download shortly from https://www.SimSig.co.uk/File/Index/70 This replaces file id 2345 following feedback and additional playtesting. Your are strongly encouraged to read the full notes in the TT description, and look out for additional notes on the in-play timetable popups. Issues Resolved since v1.0 ====================== 4O26, 5N03 and 6D32 had incorrect electrification. 5L00 causes merry hell if appearing early - tweaked with SDO stop at Railnet Reception. 5L0x-2 called wrong route at Camden Jn towards Stratford. Some mail train consists have been changed from 4-car to 8-car. Up Sleepers needed to pull up closer to the buffers. Some CS stock was failing to appear due to faulty rules. Added some crew changes and minor timing adjustments at Wembley R.P. Thanks Jamie Jamie S (JAMS) Log in to reply The following users said thank you: VInce, Splodge, UKTrainMan, Mikhail, James67001 |

Going well so far - out of interest, what is the sim bug affecting 5D99 and WM1184. One note - 6L47 has a note to use the DSL not UDG. Where is the DSL? Sending it any way other than the UDG causes a wrong route phone call. There's the right way, the wrong way and the railway. Log in to reply |

Hi Splodge, Apologies if notes for 6L47 were wrong. In RTT the path is meant to be via Up Slow rather that U&DG. However, SimSig won't allow that so has to be forced via U&DG - https://www.SimSig.co.uk/Forum/ThreadView/50506 I'll correct the note as it's not Down :) 5D99 - there's a sim bug that means if you try and cross it back on to the Up straight from 1184, it fails, you have to use the OTHER set of points at Willesden WLJ - https://www.SimSig.co.uk/Forum/ThreadView/50515 Thanks Jamie Jamie S (JAMS) Log in to reply The following user said thank you: Splodge |

One other thing - I briefly attempted creating a 2019 TT last year, until a house move got in the way. But my research for that indicated that platforms 17 and 18 were out of use due to HS2 work, yet 17 seems to see quite a lot of use in this one?

Hi, There's nothing on 18 at all, but there are a few in 17. These were tweaked to actually accommodate everything scheduled! However, 1M06, 1M10 and 5S44 might be able to use P6, and 1B34 can use P5, but 1R20 and 1M12 cause conflict. Jamie S (JAMS) Log in to reply |

Is there a need any more to keep the older version (1.0.18) available - https://www.SimSig.co.uk/File/Details/2345 - now that it has basically been superseded by the revised version 1.1.22?

Hi, I'm enjoying this TT and I've had 6B74 call in at North Pole Jcn saying it has the wrong traction for the route. He called in from 809 signal at North Pole and it's a class 92.

Hi Cliff, I see the issue on 6B74 - must have missed this. The Class 92 consist is dual-voltage, initially running on 3rd rail. There's a "feature" in this sim that if the train doesn't stop at North Pole VC811/818, it won't lift its shoes and the driver calls in to complain despite the very clear OHLE in front of his eyes. The solution is to change the "Start Traction" for this train to Overhead AND 3rd Rail, in the timetable editor, before it arrives. I'll fix this in the next release :) NB: Have checked all goods services and this seems to be the only 92 without dual-voltage set... Thanks! Both 5A91 and 1M21 postals have appears from Watford Junction Up Slow - they have identical timings, which implies that relevant rules are missing?

is some of the stock too long for platforms ? e.g in the version I have 1.1 SimSig 4.15.1 platform 6 is shown as 258m but an 11 car pendo is timetabled in and out with no issues and is shown in F2 as 265m (1R05 inbound/1H12 outbound) . Now it doesnt complain mind you nor do I have to do a TC override , what am I missing here ? Ta CSL Log in to reply |

@slatteryc You've got trains timetabled to use Willesden RMT platforms 4 & 5 but the manual says Quote: Platforms 4 and 5 are out of use in the Royal Mail Terminal as of 2014.Although, saying that, if one looks at the relevant Sectional Appendixes then as of June 2014 it looks like 6 and 7 are OOU and then as of March 2019 onwards it looks as if platforms 5, 6, and 7 are out of use (tracks appear to stop short of the platforms)? UKTrainMan in post 126217 said:@slatterycThe tracks do stop short of the platforms because the platforms were filled in to allow greater space for the increased cross-docking required after Royal Mail terminated their contract with EWS in 2002 and moved to a predominantly road-based network. This policy was driven by cost considerations from a management team who had originally developed the road-based Parcelforce network and found that rail was not essential to supply the level of service required. However, we should not forget that Royal Mail would have been forced off the rail before too long in any event. While Royal Mail used many of the trunk routes provided by the railway, the busiest was the WCML. Again because of the nature of the Royal Mail business, the most time critical moves take place overnight. Later in the decade we had the WCML passenger upgrade which effectively blockaded the WCML on a nightly basis for a considerable time. Had Royal Mail stayed on rail and had to suffer the delays caused by diversionary routing or transshipping from rail to road and back, the national Quality of Service (the amount of first class mail delivered within time specification) would have taken a hit of probably 1 to 2% against a target of about 96% IIRC. This would have laid Royal Mail open to sanctions from the regulator including significant financial penalties so economic pressures would have forced Royal Mail off the railway anyway. If the WCML is unviable as a network option then investment is required in an alternative road based system. Because of the investment in new depots and vehicles for a major part of the rail traffic, the business took the view that it made operational and economic sense to move all the rail traffic over to road rather than splitting the resources between alternative strategies. Once the investment was made to put in a road network providing equivalent Quality of Service to that supplied by using rail then it is difficult to make a case to revert to rail while the investment in the depots and vehicles operating the new network has to make a rate of return. “In life, there is always someone out there, who won’t like you, for whatever reason, don’t let the insecurities in their lives affect yours.” – Rashida Rowe Log in to reply The following users said thank you: jc92, UKTrainMan |

Thanks to everyone who's supplied feedback. I've tweaked the mail trains to only use P1-3 (except for one service which seeds on P4, as I don't have enough platforms unless I start doing some consist splits and a shedload of associated rules). The platform allocations for the Avanti services on P1-7 and P12-16 are indeed as per the CIF, and the diagrams are based on the VT (not AWC) so blame Milton Keynes I'm going to clear stuff from Platform 17 on the next version. Of course, if you really fancy a challenge, you're welcome to isolate platforms 16-18 and have a little weep! Hi Jamie Also posted about this in the Simulation forum without thinking - using loader v5.2 I received an internal error from 4L95 resulting in sim exit. Not sure where is best to post this, have attached a screengrab of the error. Is this an issue or just a one-off glitch? Best wishes {Edit} Somewhat happily / frustratingly, I restarted the game from exactly the same save twice, and was unable to reproduce the error! Perhaps it was a one-off glitch. Never mind!
