When you open a Sim up and open up the Timetable List (We are inputting a Timetable). In the Train Types tab you enter the details of the consist, length, max speed, weight etc. on the right you have a tab named dwell times. open this tab and you input the details for crew change, joining , detaching etc. Once the details are entered in both tabs Category details and dwell times "Click ok"
We now go back to the Timetables tab and start to enter the schedule details of the train. Once this is done we "allocate a category to the schedule. When the train category is allocated to the schedule when you click on the schedule and you get the Train Details, the tab to the right is "Train Characteristics" this shows the train type that has been allocated to that schedule, when you open the Train Characteristics tab all the dwell times have vanished from the category for tat schedule.
I would have put this on Mantis but could not find Timetable Editor as a subject

I've followed what i think you've written here Chris and not been able to reproduce
As it was hard to follow what you put, here are the steps I've carried out, Please let me know if I have done anything differently
1. Open F4 timetable window
2. Create a train type
a. Description - Test
b. Train Length - 40m
c. Max Speed – 45mph
d. Add Dwell Times
3. Create a new train
4. Fill in schedule
5. Then assign the train to the Test train category
6. Look at the Custom Dwell Times and for me they have matched what I entered
7. Recheck the Dwell times in the train type, and they are still what I entered

Hi, the problem that I'm getting is not quite what Chris has said, but it's when you export a set of TOC categories (or a full list) from one sim using :
Timetable - Timetable List -Tools2 - Export
Then you import them via the same method (except use import) into a different sim's timetable that you want to create, the categories are all imported into the new timetable ok, but all of the dwell times revert to zero.
Is this intentional or does it need to be amended so that the dwell times will carry over as well ?
Its a bit of a pain having to reinsert the TOCs dwells for a set of Categiories each time you re-use them.

Phil...

The .CSV export which you are using, long predates custom dwell times on train categories, and therefore doesn't export them into the _Categories.CSV file, so won't then import them back in.

I'm not sure if it's intentional to not support it, and I'll make inquiries about that.

"Passengers for New Lane, should be seated in the rear coach of the train " - Opinions are my own and not those of my employer

Ok cheers for that. It would be enormously helpful if an updated version could be put together to include dwell times.
