Same signal fails 3 times within 5 hours! 16/04/2020 at 02:37 #125857

In the simulation, Signal T466 failed 3 times within 5 hours.

Additionally, Signal T468 failed directly after T466 twice.

I have found this odd because in the real world, it would be unlikely for the same signal to fail more than once.

Would this be more peculiar because the signals are consecutive on the line?
And I reloaded from a save?

Running a standard simulation with saves if required.

Luckily it was early in the morning as there would be a build up should there have been many trains using the line.

Many Thanks.

It's a known issue which I haven't had time to fix just yet.

Multiple successive fails like that are far from unknown.

I'm sure I've written before of the TC at North Pole that was forever failing on nights? I have it on good authority there was a TC on the slow lines at the south end of Primrose Hill Tunnel that was forever failing (though in that case it was a little more predictable... whenever it rained). And the up fast home at Biggleswade (formerly Biggleswade South), after renewal as a colour light when Biggleswade North was abolished, had a reputation for going back in the face of trains just as they approached it, to the better-imagined-than-described discomfiture of both driver and signalman, particularly as the box was pretty much where the train would come to a stand...

I was just wandering if it is rare for the signals that are next to each other fail.
Is it a problem for all the sims then?

I am glad that it sounds like there is a fix.

Many Thanks.

I am reminded of Roger Ford's story about when he was cabbing a VEP (I think) or some other Southern Region BR-generation EMU. The driver says:

"See that green signal ahead?"
"Yes"
"What colour would you like it to be?"

and proceeded to use adjustments on the traction controller to make the signal change colour because of interfering harmonics.

It affects all sims at the moment, it's not unique to Three Bridges.
