Westhorpe Run Round: Train Length vs Loop Length Issue 24/04/2020 at 11:06 #126241

Hi all,

The Westhorpe branch is listed at 450m long in the Sheffield ROC documentation, however the longest train I can get the loco to join without fouling the entry/exit points afterwards is 401m. Should the 450m measurement cover the loop from headshunt to headshunt or should it cover the distance between signals 281 and 290? If the latter, I presume this is a bug.

(Bonus typo item - the Automatic button for Beighton Station Jn level crossing is labelled AUR instead of AUT)

Kind regards, Iain.

AUR - auto raise. Not a typo and it features on other crossings in the sim.

450 seems right having measured on Google earth. Have you set the trains stopping distance to FX to ensure it uses the full loop and doesn't stop short of the signal as this would be the normal behaviour. Realistically the longest train you can fit in is 425m allowing for the loco to fit when it runs round.

Cheers jc92 for the clarification on both points. I had tried setting the stopping point of 6B52 (a 420m train from the Sheffield SX 08 04 2015 timetable) to far end but to no effect on rejoining, far end exact (FX) has done the trick as you suggested.
