New sim version - exit/entry points 28/06/2020 at 00:04 #128353

Hi all,

Just started on the task of updating my 2017 timetables to reflect the new entry point of Staylbridge.

In a test timetable from Huddersfield, the timed test train reports passing Marsden and Diggle Jcn but doesn't report arriving/leaving at Greenfield and Mossley or leaving the sim at Staylbridge.

The test train disappears from the train list on passing Diggle.

Is this by intention?

As long as the aspect sequencing looks correct for a disappearing train, then yes, this is standard practice.

Geoff,

Thank you but I was rather expecting something like Peterborough where trains are reported leaving an entering the sim at Grantham, Ketton, Whittlesea and Hitchin (all off sim).

Exeter where trains are reported entering and leaving at Ivybridge and Castle Cary (both off sim) also Derby where trains are reported entering and leaving at Clay Cross South, Tamworth, Tutbury, Litchfield TV and Long Eaton, all off sim.

I'm trying to add times at Greenfield, Mossley and Staylbridge in each direction but it appears that the times don't have to be accurate as long as there are some times inserted for these locations.

If these times are not used to calculate delay, then I can guesstimate the times and save myself a lot of work, although it wouldn't be accurate.

Vince - are you in need of 2017 WTTs for the route? If so, I can assist.

We look at the extension - bearing in mind my main task was to fix bugs left by the previous developer and ensure chaining to adjacent sims, not a wholesale upgrade - and feel it wouldn't benefit the sim much by adding the additional sections. The signal spacing is much closer on the Stalybridge side of Standedge, meaning less chance of following trains getting checked by slower, preceding trains.

I'm not saying I won't do it but it's not priority at the moment.

Hiya,

Yes - the WTT extracts I had I lost in an external hard disk failure ages ago.

I've been searching around the usual sources but the best I can find is a 2016-17 winter of YH10 and nothing at all for the bit between Staylbridge and Diggle.

If you have a summer 2017 then that would be a big help. As I said in my reply to Geoff, I was just going to estimate the times from the current running times (Class 1 & freight non - stop, Class 2 stopping) so as all of the errors disappear but I would much sooner use accurate information if it is to hand.

Thanks again for the offer - pleased to accept.
