Hi all

I'm after some new routes, something for one player.

My abilities are things like Derby, Exeter, Rugby {Northampton}. I've done York, Salisbury, Westbury and Portsmouth. West Hampstead is too intensive.

Any recommendations? Cheers

Tyneside, Wembley Mainline. Just try a few in demo mode before buying.

Any of the Leeds selection are good enough. E/W is big and busy but more than manageable with the ARS as a guide. The other two are single panels.

As mentioned, take advantage of the Demo mode on the sims to have a go and see what suits.

Sounds like your looking for things in the intermediate category, or maybe some of the smaller ARS sims.

Cheers for all the recommendations, i've just done the Tyneside Demo, looks really good. I'm going to look through the intermediate list now.

Brighton, Wolverhampton and Lime Street to Runcorn (listed as Edge Hill on the list) are about the same difficulty and style as those you listed.

After doing many of the same simulations as you, I decided to try some ARS sims. Enjoyed Marylebone and am now doing LTS.

Have you considered Oxford or the Cheshire Lines simulations with BR-era timetables? Lots of thinking ahead required in addition to route setting.

I really like Pascal's (58050) 1980's timetable for West Yorkshire. It is challenging but completely manageable by one person at normal speed if you disable level crossings.

Yes, agreed. This is an excellent sim

I have found that I was given quite a few trains that couldn't use ARS when I ran a Peterborough sim which made it difficult to handle. I might have done something wrong when I set it up, though, and maybe I was simply not ready for it yet at the time.

Did you run the sim at a reduced speed and/or use the pause button? This would give you extra time to sort a few problems out. Also, did you set the 'failures' sliders back to the far left?

Oxted is nice - quite busy in the modern day timetables, but a compact and easy layout.

Oxford, as others have already mentioned.

Or, with ARS, Swindon and Didcot?

By default trains with an X headcode have ARS disabled. If I recall correctly, the default Peterborough timetable has a number of GNERstars (class 373/2 shortened Eurostars) that run as 1X?? because they only fit in platform 2, not 3, 4, or 5.

I'm pretty sure I just bit off more than I could chew. Gonna give it another shot and see if I can manage the included timetable at real speed using the following presets: limited delays only, no closures and rare level crossing users, Nene calls on, ARS/TORR on.
