Hey there. I have been playing the Wolverhampton SimSig for around a week now and I am loving it. However, there is one part I do not understand. This is when trains need to go from Woverhampton station and to Oxley CS. I can not see how you set the route in to the CS. Can anyone help?

The train has lost its description- at a guess, this is because you've set a shunt route towards signal WN62 (using the white shunt arrow), rather than setting the route to WN62 itself. You appear to have done this for 1H09 in the attached shot as well. The shunt arrow should only be used for trains reversing at the north end of Wolverhampton station.

Stafford Road Jn and Oxley CS are outside of your control, and routes in this area are set by the simulation. As the train in question is undescribed, the simulation isn't setting the correct route for it.

Also, this is going to sound very stupid but how do you know what the name of a signal is?

Right click on it (or shift+right click, depending on your options settings), there's also a signal number plan in the user manual

You're going to have to be a bit more specific- there isn't really a question for me to answer there :)

The train has lost its description, so the train describer is showing ****, rather than 1J02. This is almost certainly because you've set a shunt route towards WN62, rather than a main route. See this Wiki page for more information.

Thanks for the help on signals.

I just am confused how to let the train go past Oxley CS rather than into it. I set the route going down from Wolverhampton North junction, it then gets to the greyed out signal and gives me that message. Sorry if I sound dumb I just do not understand.

That track isn’t controlled by you, it is outside of your Signalling area. The train is passed to the next signal box and they route it accordingly.

Because you have a train leaving your area with no code (it shows **** instead) so the next signaler doesn’t know where it is supposed to go.

As someone mentioned above, when Signalling out of the platform don’t click on the white arrow, but rather click on the next signal.

... or if you click on the white arrow by accident (we've all done it!) make sure you interpose the correct train ID onto the "****".
